Do atheists simply make better citizens than theists?

2006-07-20 10:30:57 · 35 answers · asked by Anonymous

Maybe that taste is not from the Atheists answers here in Questions, but from you reading your God's own Words? WTF is with this "absolutely valid and true word" of your God, anyhow?

Should he have his mouth washed out with soap, I think?

"But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?" (II Kings 18:27)

O.K lets assume for one minute Hell exists, many of us feel that we just burn for eternity. My question is what else are we doing down there, can we talk to other people, walk around freely, how big is Hell, can we talk to Satan etc.......

I write poetry and play guitar and sing and I can cook and clean and I go to church and I'm a nice guy... not ugly... at least, I am tall and athletic, if that counts for anything...

when I ask girls out they're always like "yea we gotta do something" but when they find out I ride the bus everywhere, they suddenly become very busy and start accidentally leaving their phone on silent all the time... I have a real nice place with big TV's and stereos and all that, but I like to keep the 1000+ dollars a month it costs for car payments, insurance, and gas and spend on something else.

Why is it that girls just totally don't go for that? I mean, come on, I would cook a girl dinner and then sing a bunch Beatles songs to her but since I don't have a car, she'd rather go out with some boring guy who does have one but just wants to have sex and skip the romance...

Am I living in the wrong time?

God made us, but why? Do you not think that god just made us because he was bored?
Think about it: He is a being with great power, but what can a being that can do anything do with itself?
God made the Universe so there would be something pretty to look at. God made angels, but they are just a bunch of yes men (no fun). But humans are imperfect with the ability to make choices and isint it quite fun to watch the decisions we make?
I believe god knows all the possible outcomes of past and present, therfore he gave us the ability to make decisions so that he can watch which path we take. He made lucifer to spice things up or else hed end up with a bunch of docile simple minded adam and Eves. He made religion so that we know who we owe life to.
But God has no reason what so ever to have to do any of this except for the fact that god just wanted to do so. So in fact, its like god is playing a video game where he makes some decisions (like disasters) and he watches how we react. FUN!

Considering Jesus' stance on love, tolerance and peace, do you think he applied the teachings of Buddha so people could better understand the love of God; to make it easier to walk the path of forgiveness and tolerance so our spirit would be more open to the Holy Spirit?

I asked this because I find a striking similarity between Jesus' and Buddha's teachings.

Being a gay boy, I have to say the most fun part of being on the gay side of the gay marriage movement, is knowing that in a few years - I win.

I'm willing to settle for civil unions (as I would guess most other gay men would be ammenable to), but it seems those most adamant about opposing gay marriage, won't settle for civil unions.

So, we'll continue to push until we have gay marriage or civil unions one. And the most fun about the whole thing, is knowing that in 10 years, I will be on the winning side.

What do you think is the most fun part for you of being on the gay side of the gay marriage movement?

The attempts to disprove evolution as the most convincing scientific theory appear to be either grasping at straws or blatant attempts to mislead. Does the vehemence in insisting the teaching of "intelligent design" in the classroom suggest a core questionning of faith in general? If you need to have faith proved by natural phenomena, doesn't that open you up to having faith disproved when natural phenomena don't support it?

..."I will bless those who bless you and i will curse those who curse you."

This is shocking to me.. as no loving God would discriminate against people and condone the killing of the innocent no matter what. If so,his love means nothing and is a burden on humanity. This blind support is Unjust, and causing havoc in the ME. How could you favor this ticket to heaven (as some call it ) when blood is smothered all over it?

I am for the interest of stabity and peace and everyone to live in harmony and this ideology causes a major setback.
