The problem with this site is that there are too many evangelicals for each belief/non-belief. That's what leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

First of all, 'Rabshakeh was not a Jew(Hebrew); his people were attacking the Jews.
However, I understand the apparent misunderstanding about Christianity. The man-made old testament of Genesis-Malachi exist, but the scriptural old testamen is; i.e. the law of Moses. The Jews were told to have two or more witnesses (about three times Deut. 10-20), and the Christians were given the same command (Matt. 18:16, 2 Cor. 13:1). When this concept is applied, one finds the 'old testament' is the law of Moses. My 'two or more witnesses' include Joshua (Joshua 8:31), David (2 Kings 2:3), Solomon, Nehemiah (Nehemiah 8:1), Daniel (Daniel 9:11-13), Malachi (Malachi 4:4)i, Jesus (Matt. 19:7-9), God the Father (Matt. 17; in effect he backs up whatever Jesus his Son says), and the apostle Paul. (The law is referred to as the old testament (KJV), many other English versions translate it as old covenant in 2 Cor. 3:13-14). Perhaps this is part of why the beast in Revelation 17 is the USA, and the harlot Babylon is the leadership of the USA. (See what happens to the beast and harlot in Revelation 18).
Does this reply earn me a ‘best answer ‘ to the question in your present opinion?

You know that bad taste you get in your mouth when you haven't eaten for a long time?
You know, you want at least some gum?
So you're asking you friends for some, and they say they don't have any?
And you're like "Crap! Man, I really need something!
You're like hungry and have a bad taste.
Then you start getting weak, maybe the shakes a bit?
You start getting a little desperate?
Start thinking, "I'd eat just about anything right now."
And then like you find an old package of fries under the passenger seat of the car, and you're like "Score!"
And there you are eating something nasty, that will probably hurt your body, and you STILL have that bad taste in your mouth!
Jesus: bread of life, keeps me from taking in something harmful just because I'm feeling empty. Taste good, too!

The Bible is quoting the words of a foreign king's emissary that had come to try to dishearten the Israelites by describing some of the horrors of a long siege.
Oh! And it is absolutely valid and true as well.

you may not want to know this, but answers from atheists and agnostics do not leave a bad taste in my mouth. answers from foul mouth or rude people do disturb me some (but it takes more than that to offend me long term).
personally, i think when an answer or question is posted, its interesting (sometimes entertaining) to see what others think.

You have no clue what you're talking about. This was a commander sent to the Israelites to discourage them in time of war...

none of the atheists have said anything along this line, that i have read.
if you actually take the time to read the passage and understand it's meaning, then you will understand the language.
until then, you are just a mealy-mouthed, unlearned indivudual who merely attempts to instigate hate and embarrasment among others.
