"You might also consider that in heaven...there will be NO sorrow...NO hot or cold...NO hunger or thirst...you will never have another need again.."

Sounds an aweful like death to me

Personally, I have no plans on sitting on a cloud for all eternity singing Holy, Holy, Holy to an egomaniac with a superiority problem. I'll be in the backroom directing adult movies.

This question is expressive of why I don't believe in an eternal Hell, or Heaven in as expressed this case. Any emotion you experience if continued to be experienced will eventually become so saturated that you will only feel numb or at best be idling in neutral.

There are good reasons for the existence of contrast. Could we really feel pleasure without the context of having experienced pain at an earlier point?

Maybe the point spiritually isn’t to go to heaven & to avoid pain, as this is simply the pleasure principle. But maybe, just maybe, spirituality has more to do with going with the flow of life, which is in constant flux.

The beauty of watching the shoreline is not that the waves only rush in, but that they also recede. The moon is a wonderment when full only because it was hidden when it was waned. Often the excitement of nakedness is only because most often we wear clothing. And the list can go on and on, etc.

So instead of living for a future heaven, & or avoidance of hell, let's start living here and now, revering the beauty of each unique and changing moment.

In the Bible, God tells us that "no ear has heard, no eye has seen" the things in store for us in heaven (I am paraphrasing) ...I believe this means if you took the most beautiful atmosphere you could conjure up in your mind and mulitiply that by 1000 ....you still couldn't come close! Read the book of Revelations...there are some clues you might find to feed your imagination re: what Heaven might look like...You might also consider that in heaven...there will be NO sorrow...NO hot or cold...NO hunger or thirst...you will never have another need again...being in the presence of the Almighty God will be the most outrageous all consuming "high" one can ever hope to attain...I don't think our "finite" minds can fathom this.....but friend, read the bible...God has lots to say to you regarding your arrival in heaven and your visitation on earth...He loves you and has lots to impart to you! Best of everything!

Many years ago I had a dream that I was in heaven. Looking back at the dream it seemed very boring, but at the time I wasn't bored. I was the most content and peaceful I have ever felt. The point is that since it is heaven, by definition we will feel peace and bliss. We cannot judge how we think we will feel in heaven based upon what we know on Earth. It's beyond anything we know. Just focus on life now and make it a good one - one that will give you as much peace as possible in this life and will reward you in the next. I believe that your next life will be the goodness you have created in this life.

Someone will say: Hey, no more m&ms for you! Seriously, I like the other answerers who said, "Why do you think you'll get bored in heaven?" My guess is that the millennial reign of Jesus Christ will include all of the good and clean things of the world, so whatever you like to do here will be what you can keep developing as talents or hobbies in the future.
Oh, and as far as emotions go, you will still have a lot of conflicting emotions. Just think of what raising children evokes!

You think that a God with unlimited resources in a universe of unlimited size would allow us to grow bored? He knows more than anyone what torture eternal boredom would be. We will never get bored in Heaven.

Let's put it this way. If you think you will be bored in Heaven (which the primary activity will be worshiping God), then you probably won't be going there anyway to worry about it.

1) There will be no punishments in Heaven.
2) There will be no boredom in Heaven.

You can't be bored in heaven, that is why it is heaven. I imagine it will be great food, lots of activities like bingo, laying on the beach, skiing, scuba diving, getting massages...

But if you like heavy metal, you have to go to hell for that.

you need to chill. you dont have a real idea of how heaven is. you probably think it's with a bunch of white people doing nothing just standing in clouds all day - you got that from south park
