Are there any Christians out there who believe this war is a good or righteous thing? If so, why? How does this fit in with your understanding of what Jesus taught and about the fundamental teachings of Christianity? What is your reasoning? I truly do not understand the rationale and would like to.

War is never a righteous thing, and Jesus would not support war, especially a holy war. Paul probably would have, but no matter how hard he tried to be, Paul wasn't Jesus.

The mindset of war:

"If they would stop doing harm to us, we could have peace." ~ both sides

All your friends in Christ would say that this war is bad, but in private it's another story. The war is exploiting Israel and the Arabs into what the Crusaders couldn't do in the past. The Christians are basically standing by and watching the Jew and Arab destroy each other seeking an opportunity to launch the next Crusade and march triumphantly into Jerusalem. PEACE!

The Christians who believe this war is a good thing are mostly "cultural Christians"...that is, they are Christians because their parents are Christians, they were born into a Christian family, and their beliefs were fed to them with their pablum.
That isn't how it works.
No, Jesus does not like what is going on in America.

This war was started out of a false belief and out of hate. As soon as the truth was revealed, both sides were too embarrased to admit their mistakes. So they just keep fighting. Stupid, eh? The war HAS no reason. Which is why Jesus is looking down upon us with a sorrowful expression as we speak. If our nation's leaders weren't so uptight with their image, and too afraid to admit mistakes, maybe this war wouldn't have even existed.

I don't support war, neither does Jesus. Christianity is about love and peace.
Jesus only said that these things would happen

Yes, I believe this war is a good or righteous thing. We liberated a country led by a dictator who gassed his own people, invaded it's neighbor (Kuwait), tortured and raped it's citizens that displeased the leaders, and who helped and financed terrorists. Regarding Jesus, I cannot speak for him.

Would Jesus support any war? Or any president? I don't believe Jesus thought in terms of kings and presidents, but as people before God. Jesus would support any person who loved God and loved his fellow human beings.

If Jesus had any power to control the world, he would wipe the Bush Crime Family off the face of the planet.

Bush/Cheney/Rice/Rumsfeld = Axis of Evil. Does an "axis" have to be only 3? 4 is ok right?

Christians must always ask the Lord for guidance in anything they do. Israel fought many wars, God drove out the nations who practiced abominable and detestable things. Sometimes God was on their side, but sometimes if they did not obey what He commanded them to do, He was not with them. So yes a Christian nation has to ask for wisdom and guidance from above.
