I was raised a Catholic, but along with believing in some Catholic ways, I also believe in karma and sometimes reincarnation. I also feel strongly about the spirit of nature itself, like respecting all animals, plants, bugs and whatnot, which isn't talked about much in Christianity. I have many strong Christian beliefs, but am very open to all religions. I don't feel just one religion is all right, but that there is something right in all religions.

There are also a few things that I don't believe in or practice that I was taught to believe and do, but that's a different answer to a different question.

A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.

After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.

Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.

I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.

I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.

If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.

I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.

I am a Christian and wonder if reincarnation is true or not. There are Scriptures that seem to point to it and it would explain the cycles that we all repeat. It would also fit the definition - hell is eternal separation from God. God can be incredibly far away while we live in Satan's playground (earth). And once we advance to Heaven we are eternally freed from the life-cycle and eternally in the presence of God.

This is just a possibility. It really doesn't affect my overall belief, though. I believe that even if I've been reincarnated this is my last go-around since I believe in Jesus and am living life as a Christian.

Yes, I do.

I believe that when God said that a man and woman join in marriage that they become one flesh.

Most churches including my own, believe in this and they talk as if this is true, but yet they split married couples up inside the church just as the world does outside the church.

Mens groups and Ladies groups are created and meet regularly. Couples groups if any at all are regulated to once or twice yearly "retreats" held at other locations and are charged quite dearly for.

Our churches, including my own, must get back to basics and follow the biblical principal of one flesh.

I am quite aware that with all the "independence" that both men and women feel away from their spouse, that neither gender would like what God truely meant from this statement.

I like this question. I am a Christian and I still love dressing up for Halloween to the absolute HORROR of people who are too rigid and superstitious. I also bought the Davinci Code cause I wanna know what's they hype behind something that's just FICTION!!! I also don't think that you need to speak in tongues to be saved because Jesus NEVER spoke in tongues. The bible says that speaking in tongues is just a GIFT of the holy spirit & there are many gifts that can be given, not just that one. And I also think that just b/c someone is your baby daddy, that doesn't give him the right to live with you if you both aren't married. The bible say "Let there not even be a hint of sexual immorality."
Plus, to be saved, I think that you need to repent and be baptized, and follow Jesus' teachings --- not just pray Jesus into your heart!
WELP, there you go... I can hear the ridicule now.

Yes, there is great debate about the origin of the dinosaurs. Our pastor thinks that they were genetically engineered way back when. I do not. I think they were also created with the other animals. I also don't believe that Christ is the archangel Michael reincarnated. Many in my faith believe that. Also, many people quote Ellen G. White like it's scripture. I do not. I believe her letters to other people have been published in a disjointed fashion and taken out of context.

Many Christians I have come across don't not believe in life on other planets because it is not in the Bible. As a Christian I see it this way. Who am I to limit what God has or hasn't done. As far as the Bible is concerned I have my own personal theory as to why it's not mentioned.
We are curious creatures and I think if God said straight out there are others out there, we would spend our existence looking for 'them' and not in seek Him.

I believe that God is All, can do All, so who am I to say He didn't. Who am I to limit God? Or assume I should know or do know, all that God has done or will do?

That's my story.

I believe in the Trinity-Jesus is God. I believe that you must be born again in order to get to heaven. I believe in the 5 fold ministry-pastors,teachers,prophets,evangelists,apostles. I believe in the spiritual gifts and manifestations of the Holy Spirit such as speaking in tongues, laying on hands etc...I believe in freedom of worship not organized religion. I believe you don't have to be in a church building to worship, pray and study etc... I believe we must study the word of God for ourselves and not depend on a human to teach us! Homosexuality is wrong and abortion is wrong. Stem cell research is o.k. if it doesn't come in contact with the fetus! Gay marriages is wrong! Evolution is a unfortunate dream for unbelievers and such people like them! These are my beliefs searched by me and only for me!

Shalom

Unlike a lot of atheists, I don't think it's my job to go out and pick fights with theists and try to convince them they are wrong/stupid/brainwashed/mentally ill. I know, it's not a religion but it is something that separates me from many other atheists.
