I became and atheist a couple of years ago, and I don't feel comfortable with the fact that I am confirmed into the Christian faith, as I feel that it belittles the beliefs of those who are Christians, and I don't like feeling tied to something that no longer has any meaning for me. Is it possible to 'reverse' this?

I believe very strongly in the power of thought and the power of prayer. My friend had a bunch of kids real young (5) ...quit school, and has generally just had a really hard life. SHe is trying to so hard to get her ged now and wants to make a change in her life. She is taking her test right this second. Will you all please say a short prayer that she will pass? I think it'll help! This may sound funny, but I have read upon studies about prayer and it is worth a try!

It concerns the kosher and halaal laws (food). According to the Quran, the kosher laws (which are very complex) are only for Jews and the halaal laws(not complex) are for muslims/gentiles.

So, if a Jew converts to Islam should he/she observe the kosher laws or halaal laws?

Thank You.

Peace :-) Veritas

I understand they say it contains chemicals derived from animals that may be "haram.
But the fact is that the product has undergone a total chemical transformation.
Going by that logic how can you eat anything? For example plants and trees draw their sustenance from the soil and various fertilizers are added to the soil. The fertilizers can have any origin such as animal & human excretra, the parts of animals not killed as per Islamic rituals (and even dead humans in graveyards can be fertilizer for plants) etc. Then how can you justify eating plants & fruits?
Chickens are halal but most chickens eat worms, insects & things deemed to be haram.
Please note - in the world EVERYTHING is recycled. For example your urine can end up as someone else's water & vice versa.

Ok every person who uses the bible in arguments says it is word of god hence automatically true. If that is so can I get some real answers as to why in the bible it says ok to rape, torture, enslave people, ok to kill for wearing clothes made of 2 threads, why christians eat pork when says in bible they cannot.
So I can only conclude that either bible is a flawed book written thousands of years ago by humans, or bible really is the word of god and it really is ok to kill, enslave, rape, torture, etc.
Now as for the old vs new testament thing I cannot accept difference since old testament is part of bible and most often quoted these days in arguments as the will of god.
Any thoughts as to how bible can be perfect and word of god when it is filled with such horrible travesties that most accept is not what god wants?

Can't the atheists just accept that some people want a bit spirituality and faith in their lives. If ur not bombing anyone up or forcing thm to convert, is it such a bad thing???

as a bar Mitzvah'd Jew i came to believe the Jewish scriptures-Moses said we have to have a blood atonement for sins-Leviticus 17 vs 11, Isaiah showed how Yeshua-hebrew for Jesus -the Messiah fulfilled it-Isaiah 52 vs 13--53vs12-he would be exaulted but first marred more than any man-and be the anointed one the Messiah-and lay down his life rejected to be our blood atonement for man-and i believe the Jewish writers do u? and Jesus said he stands at our heart door and knocket-to come in and deliver from sins and be our friend Revelation 3 vs 19&20 so i prayed "Jesus come into my heart-forgive my sins and be my friend-amen" and he so did that too- should i not believe them?

The whole christian "family" has decreed that ALL non-members of their lunatic sect is evil and will go to hell. Also, only a select few of their own idiot "club" is free from Satan (those who live for jesus every waking moment). Is that how it works?

Faith healers can put cancer into remission, and do other wonderful things through God. Just wondering though, if God can remove the cancer (which may have gone into remission at this point anyhow) why has a faith healer/God never cured an amputee, it would be no greater a miracle?
