I don't understand why people would refuse to believe in some form of a higher power. Yes we all know the Bible is full of contradictions and shouldn't be taken literally (I say this first because that seems to be the number one defense used by Atheists, why follow the Bible) Not all of us follow the thing word for word, only crazy Fundamentalist Christians do that and we're not all crazy like that.

But, putting the only religion they seem to question aside, what about all the others? Religions have been around throughout human history, majority of civilizations, tribes, communities, what have you, have all believed in some form of god, goddess, saints, ect. I'm not just talking about God and Jesus, I'm talking about even the remotest tribes practing rituals and praying to gods...that's a form of religion as well.

29: If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.
30: And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell.

While meditating recently, I had a beautiful vision of my heart growing to the size of my room, then the city, and eventually the world. As if it were all-encompassing and everywhere. As if god, love, our hearts, and everything is interconnected in such a beautiful way.

So I'm asking your opinion with respect to religion and spirituality. How does reading this make you feel, with respect to your personal religion, or lack thereof?

People keep answering questions about the bible or other things related to it without actually doing ANY research at all. Claiming all sorts of nonsense about how people thought back then to everything else. Why don't people do more research before making **** up and passing it off as truth?

Does anybody know or does it still remain a mystery? And don't give me the story about there are so many names, or that it's a secrete? Because why would a loving God hide its name from its children( its creation)?

How can I prove that I (or anything for that matter) exists? All I have to test it with are my five senses and my memory of what my senses have told me. Can these really be considered reliable?

Matthew 5:17-18

Speaker: Jesus

17: "Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them.
18: For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished

Verse 18 for sure supports that we still need the laws because no doubt ALL is not accomplished. Therefore by Jesus own mouth you should follow the law of the bible completely right?!

Or the other way around.

Murder is murder, isn't it? Do certain people deserve to die more than others? I thought we were supposed to "turn the other cheek."

For both camps: If there was no such thing as the big bang because god created the universe, then who or what created god? And don't even try to quote the bible because there is no such thing as a god family tree in there.

If you weren't so worried about fullfilling prophecy, would you even care about what was happening in Isreal right now? Don't you see the idiocy in trying to fullfill a negative prophecy? I am really curious about this. Wouldn't Christ be trying to find a peacefull solution, or did I totally misread his teachings? War is not the answer, it doesn't even make a good temporary solution.

Most people nowadays cannot trace their ancestors back 40 generations. Especially if they're not their own ancestors. Was Matthew sitting there saying "Who was your father's father? And his? and his?" and writing this down? Come on now... they made this up.

revelation
10:10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.

Wow i gotta admit that inspired John really was hungry. I wander if FDA would be aproving for true chsristians to start eating the books.

Isn't it possible for those of us who are atheists and who are pro-choice to learn the pro-choice arguements that some Christians have, and try and voice this to pro-life Christians?

Isn't it possible for those of us who are atheists and who are against intelligent design being taught in schools to learn why some Christians are against intelligent design being taught in school and persuade the intelligent design crowd of this?

Why do you think you will change someone's mind about God? They turn off the listening and reading when they see you are trying to do this. But if we come up with a "Christian" arguement there is the possiblity of "persuation".

I don't know about you but I'm sick of playing the there is no God game.

Islam and jehovah witnesses, your reasoning has serious implications on the almight of God.
This is my reasoning. Both religions claim the bible was corrupted and twisted by evil men, and therefore does not contain the full truth.
The islam solve this by adding the koran to there religion. koran claims to have the last given revelation and makes corrections on the bible.
In the NWT, Jesus is portrait as semi god like creature. Godly but created. They added the name Jehovah into the NT to show Jesus was not God.
Anyway, both religions claim that there god is almighty.
But how does that hold if man was able to corrupt Gods given truth in the first place? Obviously God was in there eyes not able to keep the truth from being corrupted by His own creation. So although they put up a smoke screen of words by shouting allah, or Jehovah is allmighty, in there reasoning htey deny God to be almighty.
Either God is almighty or he is not. So how does that hold?

My friend and I hang out at the library in town and sometimes there would be these two or three Hutterite girls ranging from 15-17 years old that would stare and whisper things about us. I am guessing it was because of our dress even though we were dressed modestly than a lot of girls our age do. But in their eyes it wasn't modest because they were wearing dresses and black headscarves. However,I as a Christian still want to get to know them and hopefully resolve our diferences. Is it okay to approach them or do they normally keep to themselves.

If yes: Get ready family because the greatest family reunion is sure to happen real soon. Be prepared and be ready. For when you see all these things coming to pass lift up your head for your redemption draws near.

If not: Go in your room close the door and fall on your knees and pray this: Lord Jesus I realize you are the son of God and the true messiah. Lord I repent of all my sins and Jesus I ask you to forgive me of all my sins. I believe God rose you up from the grave on the third day and I believe in you. I accept you and make you my lord and savior now in Jesus name amen.

Congradulations you are now accepted into the family of God. Your sins are no longer remembered and Jesus loves you.

Forgive me for my general lack of education on the jewish religion in general, but it seems to me that so many people hate them that there has to be a reason. Be it good or bad, theres a reason and I want to know what it is. The more detailed and specific your answer is the better.
