That is a theory that goes back to Martin Luther. While there are other places in the world with 7 "mountains", none of the rest are directly associated with a church. The harlot is the woman from earlier in Revelation and that woman is clearly the church. The church becomes adulterated and is described as a prostitute. Very strong wording.

Can you think of another city built on 7 hills that rules the world at this time? Isa 2:2-4 spoke of the Father reestablishing his house in the last days after his son was crucified by the Romans and denied by the Jews. Seek the Fathers house after you come to the full knowledge of his name (see tetragrammaton) and then seek the place where he chooses to place his name Duet 12:5-8,13.

Some theologians believe this, but I do not. They insist that the kingdom of the Antichrist will be the revived Roman Empire and that the Catholic church will be somehow involved with the instillation of the Antichrist as Satan's puppet during the great tribulation. Speculating about the end times and what will transpire is a waste of time. Christians need to concentrate on evangelizing the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost and getting people saved. True believers in Christ will not be present in the world during the tribulation. Our roles at the end of the tribulation will be clearly defined by Christ himself once er get to heaven. Preachers who focus upon the end times with a fetish are misdirected in their purpose. They need to switch vehicles and get on the right highway. Jesus loves you.

Yes, some people believe that the Catholic church is the harlot talked about in Revelation 17. Because even though the Catholic church does teach from the Bible...most of their teachings are totally messed up from the truth. For example, why worship Mary over Jesus Christ? Even Mary said to Jesus, "My Savior and my God." Mary knew she was in need of a Savior- Jesus Christ.

Yep, you got it!!! Look at history as well as Daniel 2 and it will be even clearer as well as Daniel 7 and 8 tell the same thing with a bit different ways of telling the same story. If you do your studies you will find that it came into power at the right time, is a political power as well as religious power that will demand worship and have the clout to do it through its political connections as it did in the dark ages. Not far in the future now either. Everything fits to a T.

The Roman Catholic Church is full of idolatry and pagan, Babylonian symbolism. To call it the "Whore of Babylon" as described in Revelation 17 is fairly accurate I would say. God has called such idolatrous worship abominable in the entire bible. Jesus is the the Way, the Life, and the Truth - not the Roman Catholic / Babylonian Church.

It could be taken that way. The Vatican is built on a shrine to a pagan god (Attis I believe)... who came to earth, died for mankinds sins and was resurrected 3 days later... Underneath the shrine/temple, are catacombs.... Pagan Burial Grounds.

That is a possibility. no one will know untile that day but there are theories that the next pope will be the Antichrist because also in revelations it states that the 8th king will be the antichrist the next pope is supposed to usher in the 8th name used by the Popes. so it is possible.
