if you believe in the gospels, you need to watch out for romans 11 which quotes "so ALL israel will be saved" when it discusses the jews...contradiction, it seems.

The bible was written by man. Men who have never been to heaven or hell. Men who had never known Jesus during his stay on our planet wrote the bible. The word gospel has several meanings. One of which is ....four books in the New Testament that tell the story of Christ's life and teachings. This created a new religion.

There is debate as to which is the oldest religion: Zoroastrianism; Kemetic religion; Hinduism which predates Judaism by at least 1000 years. Christianity aross from the gospels after Judism.

So if you would have lived many millenium ago you would be asking same question BUT NOT AS A CHRISTIAN.

The problem with religon is that it divides people.
Spirituality unites us.

Whoever taught you that obviously does not know anything about the word of God. Please in all interpretations from the word of God, lets be sure.
Revelations chapter 7 talks about the sealing of the servants of God, a select 144,000 people, 12,000 from each tribe in Israel, but it does not say that's the number of people going to heaven.
You already quoted verse 4 so i don't need to quote it anymore. Verse 5 through 8 states the numbers from each tribe of Israel and in Verse 9 it states clearly and i quote;

"After these things (the sealing of the servants) i looked, and behold a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands."

Obviously it is clearly this people are in heaven and they are from every tribe, Nations and people, not just the 144,000 Jews as you are insinuating.
I hope you learned something there.

The Bible speaks of two classes.Firstly the "little flock"(12:32),these number 144,000(Rev.14:1-4) and are taken from the earth to rule in heaven as kings and priests with Christ Jesus over the earth.
The in-gathering of this limited number started at Pentecost 33CE when Holy Spirit descended and sat as tongues of fire above the heads of those 120 faithful followers of Jesus in that upper room.
The other class the Scriptures speak of are the "great crowd" or "other sheep"(Rev.7:9;John10:16)These are the ones who will reside on the earth.(Ps.37:9-11,29;Pr.2:21)
The Bible does not teach a fiery hell. When we die we go back to the ground from which we came.(Gen.3:19)
All those who have died remain in God's memory(John5:28,29)until Jehovah's appointed time. Then he will resurrect both the righteous and the unrighteous. So everyone will have the opportunity to learn about God and chose whether they want to serve him or not.
At the end of the thousand year reign of Christ(after the great war of Armageddon)all those who decide not to serve Jehovah will face the "second death" that is final destruction. That is they will be non existent.
It was always God's plan for mankind to live in perfect heath on a paradise earth for ever. And His purpose has not changed. It will be fulfilled.

No the church is gone by that time taken away. Jesus says during this time that salvation is based on endurance to the end. It is not a born again experience anymore. The church age is over. The 144k represent physical Jews from the 12 tribes that go and preach the new gospel. They are hunted and chased down to Megiddo and hide in a city called Petra. They are like 144k Pauls if you will.

The 144,000 are Jews of the 12 tribes and they will go about preaching the Gospel during the tribulation. Heaven is for anyone who accepts Jesus as their personal savior.

The 144,000 Jewish witnesses do NOT go to heaven. They stay on earth, to live during the Millenial Kingdom and beyond. They are selected by God to preach the gospel of Salvation to their fellow Jews during the Tribulation. They will be supernaturally protected from death, although the Bible suggests some of them will be injured.

only jehovah's witnesses believe this ... at least the part about only 144,000 going to heaven

and to Rosends ... Romans 9 explains the apparent contradiction you mention:
6It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. 7Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham's children. On the contrary, "It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned."[b] 8In other words, it is not the natural children who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring.

The Bible says a lot of things. Have you even read the book? Technically, you're not supposed to go to the bathroom.
