This urban legend refers to a computer program at NASA which experienced an apparent bug. In some versions of the legend, Mr. Harold Hill, president of the Curtis Engine Company in Baltimore Maryland publicized the event. The NASA computers were running a program that computed the locations of the sun, moon, and planets at any time in the future or past. The purpose of the program was to prevent artificial satellites from colliding with these objects. This allegation is a good indication that the story is an urban legend. Even satellites which are in geosynchronous orbit are only 22,241 miles (35,786 kilometers) above the surface of the earth, whereas the moon is more than ten times further away, and the sun and planets are tens of millions of miles from earth. 11 So there is no possibility of a collision, and thus no need for such a program. The legend maintains that the program allegedly failed consistently at a specific date in the past. Exactly 23 hours and 20 minutes was missing.

place. Do you think we should give to all fanatics thier own medecine and outlaw the religion? If any1 wants to belive in GOD its their own right. Should not we stop organised crime like Religion and get over it? They are one who come up with torture, mass murder, inquisitions. Should we learn from thier own bible how to deal with weak ppl and uneducated? Should we just punish them all like in bible up to 4th generation? If its right for them coz GOD said so so it should be right for us coz we want it so.
Or may be we just should force them to read about other religions so they can start thinking? How about Force every christian to read quoran at least once and pass a test. Force every islamist to read bible and pass the test and so on.
May be than they will realise what religion is and how those books are funny?
This Q is abviously for normal ppl. So no need for religious ppl to respond. And if they decide to repspond remember your own Jesus teaching about not judjing others.

So why does He control everything except when things go awry?

Personally, I think He is a figment of man's imagination. That is the only logical explanation. That, or He is extremely harsh towards his 'favorite' creations.

Most of you will claim that you can justify any act of GOD since we are too primitive to understand his reasons. Who told you that hsi reasons are good except him? So for example if some1 wants to commit something bad he is not going to say " hey i am going to do something bad" He will simply try to hide his intentions. We use nimals for food every day, we rase them, grow them , keep them healhty and so on till they are ready to be food.
Most of Christians claims that GOD is immutable( unchanged). Well First he destroy ppl of Babylon. Than He destroyed ppl during Great flood. The only ppl who's that act was justified were NOah and his family. If god did it once, and he is the one who decides what to do . He can do it many times ( he is immutable right?) Regardless of his promisses he is the GOD not us. Now the QUestion is. If GOD will decide to do the flood again will the current Christains justify that act concider that only 8 of those christains will stay alive?
