Guns weren't invented for hunting animals. Animals are collateral damage. This nation was judged to be worthwhile, when it conceded to passive civil disobedience, as was England when Gandhi lead the movement. Another 'woe' is to follow. Will you accept the peaceful influx of new people from the south? You be the judge, it's your nation now...

Maybe you should actually read the Bill of Rights. Your question demonstrates a fundamental lack of understanding of the document and the principles on which this country was formed.
1) America is not a "Christian nation." That's what the whole 'separation of church and state' is about. Congress shall make no law regarding the establishment of any religion.
2) God did not give Americans the right to bear arms (or any other rights). Theoretically, the People of America decided to grant themselves this right by approving the Second Amendment. In actuality, a small group of white guys decided on the language, and then the governments of the states ratified the amendment.
3) Since God does not govern America, who cares whether he likes weapons or what Jesus would carry.
I apologize for being a bit harsh, but considering how important the religious/political issues have become in the last several years, it amazes me that someone interested is so uninformed.

God didn't give Americans any right to bear arms. The US Constitution, drafted by men, says this in amendment 2;
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
In the Bible it seems clear that God loves weapons. Jesus seems to have given mixed messages though.

We have the right to bear arms for protection and survival. It was never meant to hurt each other. No God doesn't like weapons, and Jesus didn't need protection. In areas of high crime, weapons are used against the innocent. But in the boondocks, where I live, people use guns to kill animals for the meat, hide, and antlers. The only time it gets pointed at a person is if they threaten our families.

Jesus spent his man years in the Buddhist countries learning all sort of marital arts. His hands were his weapons and his tongue the spear. That is why it was so amazing he gave his life for a cause to stir the Roman Empire he didn’t want a religion out of it though. Oh well what can we do I think Christianity is here to stay. Oh America was formed for the FREEDOM of religion which to the men at the time didn’t include other then Christianity of course but all the denominations

God didn't give Americans the right to bear arms. It was the founding fathers. And they did this as a precaution. In case something bad happened with the Government (either it is dissolved by some ruler and replaced by his tyranical rule, or someone conquers the US and it is unable to defend itself as a nation) it is up to each citizen to stand up and fight. And they need weapons to do so.
Granted, they don't need 50 kilograms of Machine Gun or 20 loaded rifles. A decent limit or some precautions should be implemented.
PS. don't forget the aspiring dictator's motto : "Tyrants love gun control".

The Quakers were not Christian. The constitution is not a divine document, it was made by man. God does not like weapons-he states that they will be burned in the fire. Jesus said those who carry the sword will die by the sword.

The guys who gave us the right the bear arms were Deists, so the US was never a "Christian" nation. These Deists wanted to separate Church and State. I agree with you about Christian hypocrisy when it comes to weapons and killing.

Well, first off, there are many things wrong with your statement. This noation was founded by Puritans, not Christians, secondly God didn't give us the right to bear arms, we gave ourselves that right. Through what is known as democracy. Read about it, you'll like it, its nice.
