People today have never met Jesus and could not be influenced by his personal charisma. So why do you think people follow Jesus today? Also, what about all the other charismatic cult leaders, people like David Koresh and Charles Manson... the following of these people quickly dies away after they die. Why does Jesus's influence live on?

In order to know that an object is white (for example), you have to have the idea of what white means. I see a lot of Christians (with a lot of religious denominations), saying that "God is perfect". How can they say "perfect" when they never know what "perfect" is? The fact that I "feel" good because "I am Christian", it does not mean that God is perfect, it means that in their narrow mind they found some kind of "perfection". Reading the Bible doesn't make anything more "perfect" but give the way of a lot of other "perfections". Don't they see that "perfection" is in the eye of (religion) beholder?

Someone below was asking why some Christians do not believe that Catholics are Christians. I want to know WHY people think that Catholics worship Mary or the Saints? Can anyone give me ANY proof that this is the teaching of the Catholic Church? That anyone other than the Triune God should be worshiped....

Some say it deals with nuclear war. Others say it deals with an alien invasion from space coming from the 12th planet in our solar system (we have 10 so far). What's yout take on this?

I am 45 years old and in damn good shape-I work hard everyday to try and make this world a better place for my having been here-I see so much hate and prejudice delt out in this great country of ours it makes me sick to be associated with America-but I fought for my country and I would die for my country because I believe in what the founding fathers ascribed to create when they joined forces to fight a greater evil. I will tell you that the world is challenged now by this greater evil in those of you who will place the hopes of this country into the hands of a fairy tale called The Bible-I can sit down with your greatest religious leaders and not one could out quote me in scripture or prove to me one thing that they say but they have you afraid of BURNING IN HELL and paying for their sins in disbelieving yourself. You have one life to live there is no heaven and you better figure out that this is it and that there can be love without having to be forced to believe in it by Burning.

Jesus as described in the bible. What do you think about him? I'm not asking what you think about Christians, but what do you think about the man Jesus as portrayed in the gospels?

Being an atheist, I find this piece interesting and quite a conversational piece.

I pose two questions for you...

This is a very controversial piece of art. This is a giant photo of a plastic crucifix inside a beaker full of the artist's urine...

The image itself is beautiful, like sunlight surrounding the object...

Here is the URL to view the image:
http://www.usc.edu/schools/annenberg/asc/projects/comm544/library/images/502.html

My questions for you:

1. What are your feelings about this piece?

2. If you are a person of faith, does the urine befoul the cross, or does the cross sanctify the urine?

Why are people always preaching from the bible or whatever, and telling people stuff like they know first hand. This is becomming really sad to me.

The oldest person on the computer right now lets just say is 85 yrs old. NO ONE know where the bible came from, NO ONE know rather it's the truth or not.

No one has any other special ump in them than the next human being. We all have sex, cuss, laugh, and cry just like the next person.

Okay I know I'm going to get a lot of FAITH responses. Faith in what? I mean I know I'm going to hear Jesus or Allauh or whatever. But why aren't people being real with themselves.

As corrupted as this world is. Honestly think that who and whatever it is you are believinging in, would honestly hold you against you for not believing in something that you have NO way of knowing it was real.

The story about Moses parting the Red Sea. Now lets be honest here. Has there been any human today that performs a inkling of a move like

Since Catholics believe in Christ and follow His teachings, doesn't that make it a Christian religion?

I heard that some catholic people belive that when you have sex, you're connecting with God. Maybe that exprection "Take me to paradise" is literaly. Now in "The Da Vinci Code" they did sexual rits to became closer to God.
Could you give me your opinion? And does domebody knowes anything about this?

Alright I had a good time reading the responses from the first one. Some were good but I had the ability to counter most in my mind. Most were requiring faith which I feel there is no reason to have, I was a Christian once, my parents are Christians, and many of my best friends, but I had too many unanswerable questions (by scientific means that is). I want to apologize as I did not mean to sound like I was trying to belittle anyone with the last set. Now, ONWARD!

1. What is a spirit?

2. What proof is there to having one?

3. How does Heaven exist as a spirit world?

4. (this one pains me) How can you believe that a devout Jew or Muslim goes to hell even if they have sinned as much as a devout Christian? Obviously the Bible says except Jesus but good faithful people are good faithful people.

5. Why doesn't God keep something physically touchable on earth to prove his existence? Maybe multiple or constant sons.

More than "it's called faith" are good answers. Go to town.

Could the third antichrist be a place rather than a person? Theologians state there's only 3 possible Antichrists. Two are dead. If the 3rd one is a place, which place could it be?
North Korea, possibly, with all that been happening lately? What's your opinion?
