God speaks to us though a multitude of ways. I have known a few people whom God has spoken to in an audible voice. I had a similar experience when I was about 3 years old.

Yes, I believe that God speaks to people today. I believe that he uses many venues to speak to us. Some people believe that He still speaks through prophets. Christian theology talks about gifts of the Holy Spirit, of which prophecy is one. Another venue is the voice of the Holy Spirit Himself, which is supposed to be something like an impulse or prodding to do something unusual, such as make a phone call, or to turn left instead of the usual right. God also is reported to speak through coincidences, or signs. You can research this in many religious books, and the Bible and Book of Mormon are two books that are full of this kind of information. Both have indexes for quick and easy access. And, of course, you could always ask the man upstairs yourself...try asking with purpose and meaning.

Get a copy of the course in miracles. In the first chapter it states that its only purpose is to open a direct connection to your internal guidance from God. It actually works. Hundreds of people are experiencing it daily. I was a sceptic unlill I woke up one morning with the following verse running in my thoughts.

I am the ocean, you are the raindrops. We are the same. You raindrops, because of your similar size and location, see yourselves as separate, as units, as individuals. This perception of your selves has been your only reality since you were born in the clouds. You have no other perspective of your selves. As you fall through your short lives here, you see the ocean far below. On a certain level you understand that it and you are one and the same. You envy its magnificence. The thought comes,” I am water too, am I not also part of this magnificence?” Then you realize that you are but an insignificant raindrop. You can only look at that distant ocean in awe. The ocean with its timeless knowledge sees you quite differently. It sees you for what you really are. Its most precious children, bravely returning home to share the experience that ocean as a whole could never have experienced. The ocean has nothing but love for you. Because it understands that it is you, and that you are it. It knows only truth. Until the moment you reunite you can only speculate. The ocean's love for you is unconditional. It holds no foolish thought of punishing you for not falling quite right. It only waits with great patience for your homecoming.

The tiny collisions you had with the other drops on the way down, at the time seemed so significant. Often you feared that if you mingled with them too long you might get to close and in the process even lose your identity. All this because you understood your true identity not! You are ocean, you always were ocean, you always will be ocean. How you currently perceive yourself raindrop, snow flake, puddle, stream, River, or lake matters not. This is all illusion, only perception. You are ocean, you are spirit. You and I are one; we are the All That Is!

Yes God speaks to people and He uses many venues. People will rush to tell you that He speaks when there are catastrophes or miraculous lights or something on a grand scale but the truth is that He speaks in many different ways. He speaks in the beauty of a flower, or in song, or in a smile, or maybe even communicating in plain english. The real question is "Have you spent enough time getting to know Him to recognize His voice?"...because He is ALWAYS saying something. :-)

Yes, I believe that God Continues To Speak to people today, & the Way Inwhich He Does It is the Way He Always Have:

Through people. I truly believe that there are people who still receive Messages From God in Heaven today, Be It Directly From Himself, or from the Blessed Virgin Mary, or Elijah, or any of the Angels or Saints.

Yes God speaks to people today the same as he did way before our time; He may not speak to a person the way we speak, sometimes he speaks through others and sometimes he speaks through our minds and we think it us; I remember the time God spoke to me, he put me in a cloud at his feet and I was able to see his clothes and his hands and feet but his face was hidden by other clouds and I was white as a ghost when I was sit back down to earth, I was 9 years old but to this day I still get chills when I remember it, I was asking him a question and was saying that he'd never talk to me but he proved to me that he was listening and he's still with me today as he was then...

In a way yes. In my opinion God does this by sparking inspiration and creativity in people. One might speak with God without any words or ideas passing between the two of you, just emotions and feelings.

Through His Word, the Holy Spirit, and these we hear in our personal Bible Study and prayer times, in messages we listen to, in conversations with other Christians, sometimes in the very essence of nature - example - at Christmas I was struggling as my husband and I spent our first Christmas day apart and I was walking outdoors when I looked down and saw a leaf with a dove in it - just as though it had been punched out - the dove, often representing the Holy Spirit - reminded me I wasn't alone, I had the comforter - I have the leaf framed so that I will always remember, I'm never alone, even when I feel lonely. I believe music is often used as a means of giving us inspiration, not necessarily God speaking to us, but planting a notion or seed, or confirming what He has been planting within our heart and mind. Do I think he'll speak audibly to us? No. Do I think he'll reveal himself or his plans to us in a dream? Not likely, but may plant seeds or direction in our dreams. Ex. We've been indecisive about a local church fellowship and my husband dreamed that we had to drive by and drop off a box of donated good to "Holly". He spoke this outloud and I ask him, "who's Holly?" He mumbled something, but I couldn't make it out. When he awoke I ask him - do you know any Holly's. He though on it, and said, no, that's one woman's name I've never met any of. That evening the pastor of the fellowship came by to visit and his wife's name was Holly. To me this was a confirmation that we did not need to feel insecure about choosing this fellowship.

Simple. He speaks in our own actions. He tells us what is wrong and what is right in what we do around the world and what those consequences will bring us. But the true question is is there really a God to begin with??
