Being an atheist, I find this piece interesting and quite a conversational piece.

I pose two questions for you...

This is a very controversial piece of art. This is a giant photo of a plastic crucifix inside a beaker full of the artist's urine...

The image itself is beautiful, like sunlight surrounding the object...

Here is the URL to view the image:

My questions for you:

1. What are your feelings about this piece?

2. If you are a person of faith, does the urine befoul the cross, or does the cross sanctify the urine?

I am indifferent. The cross is merely a symbol of Jesus's suffering - his torture on the cross that redeemed humanity. While he was on the cross people mocked him and spit at him - how is this any different?

The loving God, the creator of all the universe came to pay us a visit in the form of an man and we tortured and killed him because we didn't like what he had to say. I don't think this art is all that controversial - many similar things have been done - like the one of Mary, Jesus's mother that is covered with cutouts of vaginas and feces. People love to mock Christianity - it is a 2000 year old passtime!

Now if you truly want to see something controversial, look at the Mohammed cartoons:

These comparatively tame cartoons sparked worldwide protests, violence, and death threats. Could you imagine if some artist had the gall to do a "Piss Mohammed" Now that would be something truly controversial!

I think this planet needs another shock, a shock that will humble everyone and make everyone beg for forgiveness. Otherwise, Some People will pay eternal visits to hell. All of you, atheists and what not, or whatever people believe nowadays, you need to acknowledge the things that you do, you say and what else. Eventually the Eternal father will stop waiting for these souls and will stop letting His Son get offended, and then comes the Wrath!

None to your first question.

As for your second questoin, God sanctifies. And if you think about it, God created the heavens and the earth.

Maybe you should focus on God, who is spirit (wind), not some painter.

My feeling is grief...

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

I don't get it.
But I do get two points for answering.
Edit: I thought I'd just say that this question isn't much fun.
