Last year i had a trip to Africa, to assist in some projects that try to do everything they can to stop the starvation of thousands of children each day. It's like emptying the ocean with a bucket, but at least those projects try to do something.
When i compare what i saw there to some of the above christian answers, it makes me wanna cry.
"pray more", "look around you in another direction and see the beauty".
Bleah, they don't even understand what you'e talking about when you mention "a world of pain and suffering". It saddens me how small the world of the average christian is. It also saddens me how obviously small the world of God is.

The truth is, that no one knows who God is or what his will could possibly be. That's why if you ask the 6 billion people on Earth, you'd get 6 billion different answers.
The best that we can do is try to make a difference in the lives of other people... To try to ease the suffering and misunderstanding of others. All we have is each other. If you don't try to make a difference, then don't count on anyone else to do it either.
I hope that I've helped you.

WHEN disasters strike, many cannot understand why such terrible things happen. Others are troubled by the extent, cruelty, and wantonness of crime and violence and ask why God permits suffering. Because they find no satisfactory answer, many have lost faith in God. They feel that he is not interested in mankind. Others who accept suffering as a fact of life become embittered and blame God for all the evil in human society.
The Bible assures us that the suffering we see around us is not caused by Jehovah God. The Christian disciple James wrote: “When under trial, let no one say: ‘I am being tried by God.’ For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.” (James 1:13).
Humans are to blame for much of the suffering. They fight wars, commit crimes, pollute the environment, often carry on business in a manner motivated by greed rather than concern for their fellowman, and sometimes indulge in habits that they know can be harmful to their health. When they do these things, they hurt others and themselves. Should it be expected that humans would be immune to the consequences of what they do? (Gal. 6:7; Prov. 1:30-33).
Satan and his demons also share responsibility. The Bible says that much suffering is because of the influence of wicked spirits. The suffering for which so many people blame God does not come from him at all.—Rev. 12:12; Acts 10:38
And even though many terrible things have been done in the name of God or of Christ, there is nothing in the Bible to suggest that either of them has ever approved of such actions. God and Christ have nothing to do with those who claim to serve them but who cheat and swindle, kill and plunder, and do many other things that cause human suffering. In fact, “the way of the wicked one is something detestable to Jehovah.” God “is far away from the wicked ones.”—Proverbs 15:9, 29.
So, why doesn’t God do something to bring relief to mankind? In the Bible, God tells us how we can avoid much suffering. He has provided the very best counsel on living. When applied, this fills our lives with meaning, results in happy family life, brings us into close association with people who really love one another, and safeguards us against practices that can bring much needless physical suffering. If we ignore that help, it is not fair to blame God for the trouble that we bring upon ourselves and others.—2 Tim. 3:16, 17; Ps. 119:97-105.
Jehovah has also made provision to end all suffering. Patiently he has allowed individuals the time needed to “put on the new personality” in order to come in line for his promises. (Ephesians 4:24) Today, God is still waiting, despite the constantly worsening conditions in the world. The question is: What time or season is it from Jehovah’s viewpoint? How do the nations and peoples of this world fit in with his timetable? These answers and more are found in his Word, The Bible.

This world will always have some kind of pain and suffering, it seems to be simply from our own doing.
However God did not leave us empty handed. We have the bible and we have Church.
Have you ever read the foot prints poem...If you haven't you should read it.
God Bless You.

God doesn't like the pain and suffering, but God gave us a gift when we were sent to earth. Agency. The freedom to choose. and we will be judged through our choices. If we do what is right our trials will be but a small moment.

Sometimes pain and suffering can come from not following God. God also says in the Bible that he will make us face trials and go through "pain and suffering"

He does not exist and only through your love can we make this world a better place. Love for life is a joy beyond anything I have ever enjoyed-and not just my life that I feel came about from the love of two people that gave me life through their love but also for the love of life that surrounds me each and everyday and sometimes it is through suffering and pain that we learn to appreciate this more and are kinder to our brothers and sisters!

There is not enough room here to sufficiently cover this subject.
But one mistake a lot of people make is blaming God for all of the evil in the world. But if you want to know the real reason for evil, just look in the mirror. It's you and I, my friend.

God lets us have what ever we want. She loves us that much.
When we decide we want to see the world some other way she gives that world to us.
Just Change your mind about the world you see and the old one disappears.
Yes I know, I didn't believe it either till I actually tried it. Go on, you can do it. Love and blessings. Your brother don
