Religion & Spirituality - 1 July 2006

We're not talking about any specific religion or plans for salvation, so please don't exalt one religion over the other in any way. We're just interested in lives saved and improved, bellies fed, bodies healed, valuable principles learned versus lives destroyed by war battled in God's name, people neglected, hatred displayed and taught, more hatred as a reponse to that in others.

I have seen it in action. An abuser for many years, never legally procecuted was recently attacked by a dog.
Mother of a Crack Baby goes to have a hysterectomy and they accidently cut her bladder.
I almost feel sorry for them but all I can say is Karma, sooner or later, this life or the next...
Anybody got examples?

I dont beleive in once saved always saved, and I am looking for some scriptures in the bible to show a freind of mine and for future reference to disagree with this and show that it is not true, that a person can actualluy loose their salvation and backslide.

ah, i dont mean Death is alive or undead, or even has a thought process. Its an action, not an entity, but think...death is the equalizer. Death brings true justice to the innocent and the guilty. What do you think?

I'm a Christian, but I feel that many Christians do not present enough historical evidences or logical arguments for their faith. I also believe that faith and reason do not contradict because both are from God.

If christians have a hard time understanding that the univserse was created from nothing. Where did God come from what are his orgins the bible does not go into this. If he just simply came into exstance then is possible that the univerise came into exstance without his help or is it that bible is based on human obsverations that God is the science of the univerise and that good and evil are just the sides of human nature and have nothing to do with going to heaven/hell or with devils and Gods.

Evolution is a process that results in heritable changes in a population spread over many generations. In other words it’s a never ending change. So over lets say the last 2000 years how has man evolved? Has he grown a new arm, head, leg or what? O ya he’s still killing himself and others. I really dont see why they dont like them !!!! doesnt it say in the bible that you should love your neighbor meaning you should not dislike anyone so why are christain against homosexuals????!!!!!!??? I mean your against other things but ill just start on homosexuals.

This definitely begs larger questions but I'll stick to the narrower question for now. I can not remember for the life of me and do not want to be ignorant by citing it incorrectly. My vague memory is it is somewhere between the 70's and 80's.

why have i, as long as i can remember liked men? I mean my earliest memory(about 3y/o) is of getting spanked for touching another kids ding dong. I don't ever recall "choosing" to be gay. God made me this way so why does he decide the way he made me is wrong? that i'm not supposed to have sex with men or like them? Christians, enlighten me.

A friend of mine recently discovered that she has telekenisis. She's actually shown it to me. She can make small objects move by just moving her finger. I am a huge believer in Wicca and think this is a beautiful gift that she has, but she's a Christian and thinks is a sign of the devil. Although I've tried to tell her to make the best of this gift, I can't force her to think any one way. She thinks her gift is a curse and is completely ignoring it. I know by doing this that she's ignoring an important part of her, but she won't believe me. And even if she did, she said she's not sure how she's supposed to develop it anyway, and that she may hurt somebody with it. I thought that maybe someone on here could give me some advice on how to prove to her that is IS a gift to be respected, and maybe give me some ideas on how she could develop it. I just want to prove to her that she can help people with it, and that this is a great thing that's happening to her.
