Mathew 7
Ask, Seek, Knock
7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

The Bible Cleary teaches to ask God for things :)

In order to get to know GOD and to form a personal and close relationship with HIM.
Praying for divine intervention? I don't-I just pray without asking for things. The Bible says GOD already knows what I need.

Prayer unleashes Gods's power so that he is able to work in our behalf. Prayer opens the channels of God's blessing. Prayer is how God accomplishes the things that he wants to see happen in our lives. Prayer opens new doors of opportunity for God to move. In fact you can view prayer like a door. You are on one side of a closed door and on the other side is God. But standing with God is all this incredible and unimaginable power. When you pray, it is you turning that doorknob and swinging that door wide open. For it is at that moment when all that power can step through that doorway and work for God's good, and for your good.

Since he respects our freedom of choice and free will, prayer enables him to step into our lives. God has limited his powers in our lives to the importance that we place on prayer. Prayer gives God the permission to do what he has been longing to do all the time. Even when we do not see anything significant occurring, God is still at work solving the problem. When there are apparently no answers, God is still is waiting for the proper time to give us the solution.

Psalm 55:22 Throw every burden upon God.
Psalm 68:19 Blessed be Our God who daily carries the load for us.
Psalm 56:9 This I well know, that God is for me.

Pray is just talking to God, not wishing to God. Allthough God has a plan for all of us and he gave us free will so we could live as we choose. How ever u live your life, you know what is right and wrong and should try to live a good life and not a evil life, because evil people only hurt people, and thats not how we are supposed to live. Thank You

When you want something , you have to ask for it. " Ask and you shall receive" says the Bible. Praying doesn't mean begging . It means requesting. Kind of like when you call the radio and request a song! Otherwise God "the deejay" will just play tunes randomly...

Amen.

You should pray to relieve your tensions. By preying, you are actually believing that some one out there is responsible for your well bieng and can do you no harm. And once you are really able to convince yourself of this, you can forget all your worries.

Ever blinked doing anything you were scared of while holding the finger of your father?

that does make some sense... God supposedly has a plan for everyone, and praying for him to intervine, is changing the plan he has set out for you, so i suppose in a way that it is doubting the wisdom of god

No, you are praying to God and thanking him for all that he has given us. That is in a way, interacting with God, and he commands us to do that. You have no choice but to pray.
