explain to her that gift is a tool: it is neither good or bad, but depends on how you use it.
Like a hammer is a tool, and you can use it either to smash windows or to build a house for the homeless. Tell her that god had a reason to let her have this power, and ask her to think how she could use it in a good way.
She doesn't need to worry about hurting people, because if she doesn't have an intention to hurt, she most probably will not hurt. Any ability is just a tool, not black nor white, and it depends on us how we use it.

I think the only possible way for her to be convinced is if you could find other people who have the same gift and don't think it' evil, which will be a heck of a problem because most people out there are phonies that just like to pretend.
Don't mention it to her every two seconds. Be very casual about it and with time she'll feel confident enough to start looking for other psychics on her own.
As for the developing thing, she has to want to develop it. You can't force her to. Once she's willing, you could tell her to do these exercises: Sit on a comfortable place, take three deep breaths and picture light coming into your head with every breath, then picture a blue light coming out of your fingers that pushes things.
Also to meditate. It helps a lot. Picture a blue aura growing around you as you take deep breaths.
I hope this was a good enough answer. =)

Someone else already said how it's basically neutral, and that it's in how you use it. And someone already said that God is love (we are all one). I'd personally recommend having her read the Conversations With God books. But from what you've said she sounds like she's rather frightened of it, and I think the best thing you can do when someone is scared is to give them as much information as possible. Ever had a dentist that didn't tell you what the he** he was doing? Makes for an anxious situation. But it's so much better with a dentist that tells you what it happening. The more she understands how her gift/ability works, and how it can be used, and how she can safetly use and develop it (without being afraid or hurting someone or of going to heoul or something) then she'll be much more comfortable with it.

This question reminds me of the mini series Carnivale. The lead Character is also Christian but has a gift to heal which he thinks is evil. Maybe watching this could give insight, but also maybe not because there are darker elements to the story. From a Christian point of view there are indeed legitimate gifts that Christians have. "The manifestations of the spirit is given for the common good. To one...the message of wisdom, ...to another faith by the same spirit, to another gifts of healing... to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy,...to another speaking in tongues. All these are work the work of the same spirit, and he gives each one as he determines" Cor 12:7-11. The paranormal is not evil it is just not typical. Her gift is a tool which could be used to help people, or could be used simply for personal gain and or for hurting others. I would reason with her that her gift is only a tool and it depends on how she would use it as to how God might judge her. Tell her God gave her a gift for a reason and to not explore that reason would be to disrespect her God given gift. You might also want to use Scriptural references. Jesus had the ability to do miracles yet he told his followers that they would do as much as he and more. The conclusions of this are obvious. If her church is telling her else wise she is probably being somewhat brainwashed. Many Christian denominations hold various beliefs. Some don't believe in talking in tongue or drinking wine even though the bible cites virtuous cases of doing so. Ask her to pray about where she really needs to be. Her Christian brethren should not be judgmental but should encourage her to find out the answers through prayer and soul searching. Ultimately she needs to think for herself, not be unduly influenced, by making "a right judgment" coming from her will to spiritually discern the truth.

In this vast and changing world of ours many things no matter how we perceive them are apart of us wether we like them or not. I have learned over time that life ''Just Is'' . And I beleive that things just are and how we perceive them is up to us .
A wise man once told me that ''perception is reality'' and ''life is what you perceive it to be ''. Your Friend will dictate how she chooses to see ''her reality'' based on her personal beliefs. Her way of coping with this is to call her ability ''a sign of the Devil'' . And this is because this telekinetic ability she has ,is not accepted in the christian community as being a good thing. Maybe she is afraid of being regected by her Christian Family or Friends if she told them about it.
People are afraid of the things they do not understand . ''Fear of the unknown'' is not unusual . And some people try to destroy that which the hate and don't understand. Perhaps your friend can't deal with all that may entail telling others about this ''ability'' she has. All i can say is that the best thing for your friend is to simply be there for her no matter what choice she may make .
Having an ability that is not normal according to human ideoligy can be a very frightening and alien thing to her. The one thing she needs is a true friend that will be there for her . I trust that you will do this for her and help her through this keotic time in her life no matter what the outcome. A good friend remains a costant no matter what. Life is Keotic by nature and chance favors the prepared mind .
And just incase she may want to develop this Telekinetic Ability she has i went online and found these links.

There is an MSN group Called Universal Pathways of Light It is an excellent group. Many faiths, but the purpose of the group is to share what you have learned and develop your gifts.
I grew up Christian and I understend where she's at right now. It doesn't matter what you belive in. Know that God is LOVE, God, Goddess, or how ever you see the Divine would never give a gift of evil. It is part of who she is and when she is ready she will accept it. Thanks for being a good friend, we all need at least one.

You can't want something bad enough for someone, to make them want it for themselves. You can't directly control her thoughts and actions as she can. So if it's truly not in her mind to accept what she has, then it's not going to happen, regardless of what you want to believe or do about it. If you believe it possible, be happy with what you have, and accept what and who she is. Everything else ends up taking care of itself after this. It's like love. If you force it, it never turns out how it is supposed to, and it's ruined in eventuality. But when it occurs naturally, it is the most beautiful and greatest force in the known human universe.

I agree with her. I was told by the psych community that my ability was a "gift" also. Maybe to an onlooker yes, but to those having it, it is a hell.
