It's true that many christians are bigoted towards homosexuals, especially in the US. It's also true the Hebrew Bible strongly disapproves of homosexuality. Personally, I don't allow the ancient and uninformed sentiments in the Hebrew Bible to shape my opinions on human sexuality.

Just to answer your question... Yes the Bible says to love your neighbor but it also talks about sin. And yes homosexuality is mentioned in the Old and New Testiment. Of the top of my head look at 1 Corinthians 6:10-11. (I could give you more but I am not trying to state a point, only trying to answer your question as best to my ability trying not to cross any lines you may or may not belive). Is it really a contradiction to love the sinner but dispise the sin?
That being said you may not agree that what the Christian faith defines as "sin" but thats another subject.

It is not that "Christians don't like homosexuals", in fact we love them. We do not approve of the lifestyle. God did not plan it that way, and it does not work for the good of the individuals involved in it. Physically or emotionally, you will always feel a part of your being is missing until you have a proper male, female relationship. The very first job man was given was to be fruitful and multiply. A homosexual relationship cannot fufill that order.

It's not that christians dislike homosexuals; it's their livestyle that is condemned by God, therefore it's unacceptable to Christians. We are suppose to love everyone just as Jesus loves everyone; but whether you are a homosexual, Lesbian, liar, thief, abuser, whoremonger, adulteress, molestor, or anything that God forbid and call sin, people shouldn't get an attitude because christians obey the word of God. Sin is Sin regardless of which sin it is.

Wow. You're obviously new here. Otherwise you'd know that they claim it is a "sin", an abomination, and that homosexuals CHOOSE to live their wicked, evil lives.
G0ddamn I'm sick of hearing their s#!t. They are the most hypocritical people in the universe. Truly unworthy of a god if there were one!

I'm a Chrisitan and I don't hate gays.
It's the BEHAVIOR we disapprove of because it is considered sinful. However, GOD is your judge, Christians aren't.
If you mean why do we hate gays because you are looking for support of your lifestyle, it's because Christians are expected by GOD to be an example to the world.
There are many examples in the Bible where GOD did not condemn a person for their behavior-such as a prostitute (at the well).
I can't throw the first stone, I'm not perfect. So I'm not going to be judgmental. But I'm not going to be supportive of your lifestyle. However, I will love you for who you are.

Soddom & Gomorah
I probably spelled them wrong, but that's the story Christians turn to when condemming homosexuals. I'm not a Christian so let me tell you that the Divine does not discriminate based on sexual orientation, or anything else. God is Love.

It's the sin of homosexuality that they should hate. Not the homosexual person. But let's face it, we're all sinners.
