I unerstand that in the Muslim religion a husband can get a divorse by simply saying three times "I divorse you", while a wife has to go through a rigorous trial in a religious court and prove cruelty to the hilt. But husbands are allowed to beat their wives, and only have to give them a roof, food and clothes, so what is the use?

Then on divorse the wife only gets what she had before marriage, even if the husband is an oil shiek and made $millions during marriage.
In addition, Muslim societies impose a terrible stigma on divorsed wives, who then have a major problem finding another husband.

These rules and customs might have been more or less acceptable at the time of Muhammad when women were nothing more than chattels of men, but now seem highly discrimiatory against women and surely should be abolished. Even religions have to evolve. Only then will the Muslim religion begin to find some kind of acceptance in Western societies.

i can only wear skirts or dresses unless its for sports, i can't listen to music, they think that every boy i talk to is trying to get with me. Yes i know i'm going through that teenage stage, but omg i'm a good girl! believe it or not. i get A's and B's. i don't go smoking, partying, drugs, and i'm still a virgin. They want me to stay here at my house 24/7 and if i'm not at my house than i'm doing sports or i'm at church.. which i have to go to church. i have no other choice, they'll start bitching at me and lectering me about God. i love God.. no offense.. but i'm getting tired of it.. MY DAD even missed some of my basketball games cus he had to do something at church. And i'm a femenist so my dad still thinks i'm going to let a boy slap my ***.. omgsh... I study for test and everything.. I JUST WANT SOME TIME ON MY OWN.. i wanna go out with friends, i'm tired of only being here on the internet and making my *** hurt while sitting in church.. please tell me what to do. i'm being chased by debt collectors for my $700 debt and i have lost $1000 of my mom's savings. it's all beacuse my craziness of using it for betting at the world cup. my mom already knowed about my $700 debt, but still don't know that i drained up her savings. she'll be very disappointed of me, i am her only hope to keep living on this world, but now i'm ruining it all. i cannot go gome right now with this situation, bouncers are ready to beat me up and how can i face my mom? i'm so confused. the worse thing is that 2 days again i'll have my exams, how can i possibly concentrate? i tried to sell my soul to satan, but it still didn't work out. i tried to lend money from my friends, but they don't have that much. i turned off my phone, i don't have the guts to accept call from my angry beater brother. what should i do, i'm helpless. somebody help me! my time's running out. i'm scared that i'm so desperate i'll go suicide.. please help me, i can't think anymore

My parents are threatening to disown me if I continue to stay with my bf. my bf doesn't believe in god (he says he is athiest), and my family is christian. I am christian too, and I didn't know he was an athiest until after I fell for him. he is a good guy tho, and he treats me better than any man has. but I worry about our differences, like he believs in premarital sex and I dont (although with my ex we sinned a lot in this area) - but he is willing to wait until marriage with me. Anyways, the problem is my parents say they will kick me out of the house if I stay with this guy. they keep trying to encourage me to get back with my ex, who attends church and is christian, but I left him since he hit me - but he says he regrets it etc. WHAT SHOULD I DO? PLEASE HELP.

i know my firend is still alive, but i had a dream that it was winter time and my friend was dead. and her family didn`t seem to care but they lover ehr to death, she told me, but i was the only one that cared and was crying. and my other friend was crying too, but i didn`t see her at the funeral or anything. and this was winter of last year. i don`t think it means much but it really got me upset and my friend went to maryland for the holiday it its is killing me cuz i have to tell her. but i think it might have to do with fight we had. i gues maybe its telling me that if shes gone i am lonely, and i should appoligize to her. i am so confused!!!! tell me what you think, PLEASE.

If God thinks shrimp, oysters, crayfish, lobsters, prawns, abalone, eagles, crows, mice, lizards, bats, penguins, owls, worms, snakes, pigs, and winged insects (excluding locusts, beetles, and grasshoppers) are so nasty, why did he create them in the first place? Was "uncleanliness" the result of a design error? Was he unsure what kind of foodstuff they'd turn out to be but thought they might make good mates for Adam? What happens if you eat a cow, goat, goose, fish, or chicken that has eaten a worm or some other unclean animal?

Are there any Christian restaurants that serve only clean animals that have been fed purely upon other clean animals or plants? Should we pass a constitutional amendment to make it illegal to eat shrimp or lobster at the same time that we pass an amendment outlawing same-sex marriage?
