I just can't understand how in the Catholic religion the pope can say "There is a pergatory" then many years later a diffrent pope will say "Never mind we don't belive that anymore" Who is one man to decide what is right? and why do people believe him? Why don't people just seek the truth out for themselves instead of trusting in a man.

When Jesus talks about ‘you have to be baptised’, is it a physical Baptism or a Spiritual Baptism. I’ve never been baptised but have had an experience in that past; that I will never forget and cannot explain.

How do you know if you're already baptised?

Don't you think you're wasting your time praying and stuff to a god who has never been proven to exist and could well not exist at all? Don't you think you could do so much more with your time?

1) which hour is that exactly?
2) How long does that hour last?

The guy on the street where I go get my lunch every day seems to think that the hour of God is at hand. Now, I'm usually down there at about 11:45, so I was thinking it must be noon... Then again he's been telling me this for the last 8 years, so naturally, I'm more than a little curious about this.

Must I say: "Father(the priest) forgive me for I have sinned..... " OR "Father(the priest) pray for me for I have sinned...."

Should the priest reply(after confession):"...Your sins are forgiven..." OR "...I'll pray for you so that your sins may be forgiven..."

WHich is correct?

Are you actually accepting that the big book is just a book of fictional stories meant to teach life lessons?
Because if this is the case, i have much respect for you! People who take every word of the bible as fact need their brains testing, i mean, does anyone actually believe that some guy fitted 2 giraffes, never mind the 2 of every other species of animal onto a rickety old boat!?
Say no to jesus!

Catholics believe that christians(catholics) go to heaven when they die or purgatory or hell.

Concerning that on soap operas(soapies like 'days of our lives', 'bold and the beautifull' and 'all my children'.) where will those characters(if they were real) go?

I am dealing in business with a priest that people call "Father John"(name has been changed to protect identities). I am not a religous person and feel awkward addressing him this way. Is it appropriate for me to drop the father?

My dad whom I was very close with passed away 7 years ago and it just dosn't seem right calling someone else father. Not to mention this is not a religon I participate in.

I earlier asked the question 'How can you prove the davinci code isn't a true story?' and most of you replied with 'cos the author says it is fictional!'
I now ask this: Just because the bible has multiple authors, who did not spoecify whether or not the bible is true, why do you all accept it as fact? I dont know if JK Rowling has ever stated that her Harry Potter books are not true, but why does everyone chooes to accept them as fiction, yet the bible as fact?

I have had great difficulty in trying to find this information. The name of Longuinus the soldier who speared Jesus in his side is well known but unfortunately I can't find the name of the Centurian in charge.
