It can not be dispproven, many have tried and failed.
1) live the life for yourself as God commanded
2) read the bible and search answers for yourself, you will see.
Only those who deny Almighty God or turned their backs on Him are trying to dispprove Gods word. Those who live the life can testify that the bible is truth.

FIRST: the Bible does not have "multiple authors." It has ONE author: God. Christians believe the Bible is divinely inspired and "God breathed," or directly dictated by God.
SECOND: there are more than 3,000 fulfilled prophesies in the Bible. This is a sign of its reliability and inspired source. Examine the writings of Mohammad, Confucious, Buddha and any other "divine" author or "inspired prophet." Some never prophesied; others tried to and were proved wrong. Not so with the Bible.
THIRD: look all around you. I mean, come on! Darwinism? The "Big Bang" theory? What kind of craziness is that?? Sadly, even those who believe in Darwin's theory as being fact neglect one thing: after many years, even Darwin publicly stated he was wrong. Since Darwin was wrong, one must look elsewhere. Really look at the world and its abundance of creation. Only a mighty and awsome God could create such diversity and beauty. It defies logic to think it happened by accident or any other means; the products of accident or chance look sloppy. Does the world and its life appear sloppy or accidentally pieced together to you? The Book of Genesis explains exactly how God created the heavens, earth and everything on it. They were created purposefully and with great care.
FORTH: although the Bible was started thousands of years ago, NOT ONE historical or scientific error exists. This is astonishing when one considers the overwhelming lack of true information back then. If the Bible was authored by mere men and not divinely inspired, it would be riddled with such errors. But it's not; instead, the Bible's scientific and historical facts have been proven time and time again by independent means: archeological evidence; scientific discoveries; etc.

I am not a very religious person but i always believed that the bible is fact. It's the only true and dependable source of information for the origins and future of humanity, as made possible through our Savior Jesus Christ.
The Bible has 3 primary functions:
1. Bible History - the origin of humanity, and God's dealings with humans until now.
2. The Way - The Bible reveals why God created humans, and how we are to correctly behave toward Him (the first Four of The Ten Commandments) and other humans (the last Six of The Ten Commandments)
3. Prophecy - God's Plan of Salvation is in progress. There are numerous spectacular earthly events yet to occur. The "age of miracles" is far from over.

That's really easy. Just pick something from the Bible and look to see if there may evidence to support it. Start with something easy first, like ' was there really some one known as king David.' Then move on-just remember that you should "prove" something wrong before you can truthfully say it is wrong. You will find many things in the Bible have tremendous historical support outside the Bible. Some things you will not. But you will probably not found any evidence against it. You will find lots of people do not believe it, but no "evidence" to back their claim, only opinions.

This is an age-old question that is continually being answered.
Scholars pore over events in the Bible, looking for references to known events and seek to align the two. To learn more about where we are in that continuum, please borrow from a friend or buy a student's Bible with annotations and overviews of each book and read through those discourses. I'm not being a wise-guy here. It is truly fascinating reading and one that will enlighten you. Of course, you'll find that however many questions are answered, more questions are raised.
So, why do it?
Because you owe it to yourself, I think. I think you'll be enlightened, even if more questions are raised. You just might gain a new appreciation for the Bible, its authors, the scholars and the stories themselves. There's a lot to learn there.
For me, the mysteries of the Bible are not for confusion or obfuscation. For me, the Bible is a testament of FAITH. Not BLIND faith, just faith in a higher power (God, for some). No matter what, I believe it's important to have faith and to maintain it.
I believe the Bible should NOT be taken literally. Several stories are allegorical in nature. But there is much in it that pertains to our human nature.
Give it a shot.

It's a comic book.
Or at least it's as real as one.
Many of the Batman and Superman comics had life lessons for me as a child.
The bible may hold some good life lessons but it has been bastardised by all the religious nuts who take it literally.
Just because they can't cope with the endlessness of the universe and the finality of death, they choose to inflict these religious stories upon everyone else in the hope that they will seem normal among us.
I say, if you need a crutch, get a crutch.
If you can't cope, get some psycological help before you spin out.
But leave the rest of us to enjoy what life we've got no matter how pathetic it seems to you.

I believe that bible is a divine book. But with the passage of time, other persons had modified it to such a great extent that it sounds more like a mythology than the word of God. If not, then why there are various versions of one word of God.
On the other hand, Muslims' holy book Quran is one divine book that was not changed since it was revealed to Mohammad. Why? Because since the first time of revelation, the companions of holy prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had a habit of writing down the EXACT words prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) conveyed to them. That's why, you won't find a single variation in any book of Quran, around the world.
And as for validating a divine book by means of scientific research, visit www.harunyahya.com and you'll see the scientific approval of facts mentioned in the holy Quran.
As other people answering this question put it, faith is not believing God can, it's knowing he will. And by the passage of time and scientific advancements, one by one all the facts stated in the holy Quran would be validated by science.

Have you tried to live and apply any principles in the bible.? Ask God for wisdom and a spirit of faith and trust in Him then I DARE YOU to take one scripture and apply it. James 2, 2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:17...anything! Do you understand the concept of FAITH? It contradicts science, proofs and human intellect because it is a SPIRITUAL concept, not an earthly concept. Faith is the substance of what you hope to see in the future. It is the evidence of what has gone before you to prepare your way. I accept the bible as fact because it is HOLY, I have read and been radically effected by it as I let God inhabit my heart, mind and soul. I pray you can do the same...it only takes a small drop of belief in the impossible. Mind-bending, but true.

The Bible is just as fictional as any other book...even on the off chance that it was once true it has been translated by so many different people and during so many different time periods with the attitudes of each period influencing each translation that the original words are long gone...its the greatest sci-fi book ever written because people are still obsessed with it

I accept the bible as fiction just because some things scientifically must be untrue... I guess it all comes down as to what is beyond your belief if that makes sense.
It doesn't ring true to me that somebody could part water or turn water into wine and that life started with adam and eve - I mean we all know that we are descended from apes right? I have to say they are good stories though.
