This quote
Matthew 26:39 - (NLT)
Jesus went on a little farther and fell face down on the ground, praying, "My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will, not mine."

If Jesus and God are the same people then who the heck was he speaking too? He said "I want YOUR will, not MINE". Doesn't that mean there to seperate people? How can the same person have differant wants? And if your the same person why say father? Why not just say "ME!! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me"?

I have believed in God and Jesus but I fear that I have run into doubt. Is this normal to have a certain degree of doubt about the Bible and if there really is a God? I mean if you read the Bible it says people who actually seen Jesus didn't believe until he proved it. How are people today supposed to 100% believe without a doubt that God is real?

Be honest.

That's called prejudice.

It's happening all over the country to us atheists. We are good, happy people who want to live a good life and we want everyone else to be happy.

If God and Jesus really did happen, and God made heaven and earth, why didn't he or both let the people on earth know the earth is round, and give the people instant knowlege about what could be used for medicine, food, hygiene, and you can imagine the list. The knowlege had to of been there if he God made heaven and earth so why all the secreats and let peaple suffer ever since and or untll thngs came about. Plus God or Jesue never did mention people living in north america, south america, or the animals or a billion others things.....this is why I have such a hard time believing the bible, and why Darwin got my attention a looooooog time ago.

If muslim heaven is offering 72 virgins per martyr, what does the christian heaven offer? Unlimited pizza? 100 free channels on cable? A house by the beach? What?

BTW, where do they get all those virgins? They're dead virgins, right? Otherwise they wouldn't be in Islamic heaven. What is it with the obsession with virgins anyway? If a nice young woman who'd had one or two boyfriends applied for a harem position in Islam heaven, would she be turned away? Maybe she could she get into a harem where the martyr had stuffed up and only killed himself, no innocent bystanders.

Female martyrs? Do they get 72 male virgins? Or gay martyrs ... ?

I had promised myself to step back from the evolution / creationism argument, but with so many devotees of drdino.com and harunyahya.com out there, it really begs the question:

For the sake of argument, let's say that evidence is found that completely, inarguably demolishes the concept of evolution. Does that prove creationism? Does that oblige us to believe in creationism? Or, does it just put us again back at square one, with no valid hypothesis about the origin of species?

Can you prove your theory by disproving an alternate theory?

Is there any way to prove/demonstrate creationism without referencing evolution?

My Daddy flies and hovers all around the skies. He made the chicken AND the egg...He made us from the fine and healthy dirt...our bodiez that is...and then breathed into our noses His breath of life...He hovers over us now...and flies around the galaxies...He made us His little children...we ran away and got lost..we fell and caught sinz sickness...but He ran and scooped us up...if we will hop right in His arms...by asking Jesus into our hearts...My daddy is God...and he can fly....Hes flying in my heart as His face shines on me...Hes so beautiful...Jesus is His Son..

When people talk bad about the bible, people are always like - have you read the bible? I am really quiet. Disturbingly quiet for some people. I don't talk about stuff unless I know what I am talking about. It's actually learning about the bible and reading it, that has caused me to be offended by parts of it. How can you really have a problem with something that you don't know anything about?
.... But I guesse it does happen. Often other religious people have issues with wiccan, or other religions they don't know anything about. So I guess that's why they might think I can have a problem with the bible

Before I start - please let me get it straight that I am in no way picking on anyones weight or appearance. I understand that not all weight issues are from over eating.

Ok

The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices or cardinal sins, are a classification of vices used in early Christian teachings to educate and protect followers from basic human instincts.

One of the 7 deadly sins is gluttony.

If you are overweight from practising gluttony (eating too much), then are you not going against the Christian teachings?

It's really old and there are lots of contradictions. It's god is very hatefull and oppressive.

Let's just give up on it and start teaching it in high school English classes like Greek and Roman Mythology texts.
