These people who took a class in college and now know more then God. What clicks in their heads to demonstrate such small minded thinking? Is this God in all his wisdom making fools out of fools?

I think it boils down to the old "my dad can beat up your dad" playground conversation topic. People will never agree with each other in case they might be considered "losing" an argument. They do research to back up their firepower during battle time...but either way, it doesn't matter if a person is religious or scientific, Jew or Muslim, One political party or the other....Green or Purple...they find a difference and that just means that someone other then they are "wrong", and that someone needs to be either taught the difference, or get a verbal beating. It's just that when it isn't a physical difference...then people assume it is an intellectual difference...

Ah, society, we are soooo cultured. If only we could learn to respect each other non conditionally...but then...how could we tell who the "losers" are?

Some people just need to feel superior.

Let's assume for the moment that there is a God and everything you believe that he says actually comes from him.

Now, when he tells you what is right and wrong, does he have a reason for which is which, or does he just decide randomly? Surely, he must have a reason.

Now, don't you think it would be better to try to actually understand why things are right and wrong instead of merely behaving because "God said so?"

I know this must be hard for you to imagine, but what if some of your beliefs are wrong and were not actually divinely inspired? How can you distinguish what really is the right way to live from the lies your religion has added?

Ultimately, morality does not stem from God. It is inherent to our existence. If God says for you to go out and kill random people, that proves that either God is evil or your opinion of him is wrong. It does not prove that killing them is right.

It is a mistake to think that the "word of God" you hear is always true. You have a mind. Try using it.
