Yes it sounds morbid but no more than killing a innocent baby child.

show pictures of children you could sponser right here in the United States? There ARE children here living in terrible conditions and going hungry and without medical care too. In my town (which presents itself as a prosperous town ) over 50% of our school children are living below the poverty line. I'm sure that in other places in the U.S. it's even worse. What gives?

this weekend my stepdaughter was in town from tenn. so we arranged to have a bbq so everyone could see her before she left again. the bbq was scheduled for 330pm. some people came on time but a group of people including my mother in law, sister in law (whose child had been at my house for almost two days without hearing a word from her or being able to get in touch with her), her significant other and their friend who i have never laid eyes on, came strolling in my house after nine oclock! meanwhile, im trying to get my two year old in the bed while 3 other kids bounce around and adults talk as loud as they please. they could have called and said we are swinging by later and that would have been fine but we heard nothing all day long. when they finally did come they didnt visit with my stepdaughter at all which was really the main reason for the gathering. i though this was so inconsiderate! was i being too uptight or was this rude?!

It seems to me that in this day and age, you pretty much have to at least claim you believe in God and that your "faith" is what guides you, yadda yadda. Why can't someone who looks at the world rationally have a shot at the one job in the world that needs to most rationality? Or can he/she?

Have a Happy and Safe New Years Everyone!

And to make it a question:
What will you be doing (religious or not) this New Years?

I saw this little sentence and it made me think about forgiveness. "Every person should have a special cemetery lot in which to bury the faults of friends and loved ones."

Chocolate that we , correction.HE lost, on Christmas Eve?
I gave him this joke present on Christmas Eve 'cos I couldn't be doing with it Christmas day .
It was a VERY nice spreading knife. For chocolate, which I had ordered off Anne Summers. He got all excited and put the chocolate, somewhere. We had the knife but, he had mislaid the choc. We improvised and it was loads of calories
but we managed. 6 days later, the chocolate appears!! In his dressing gown pocket. He was trying to be all sauve and sophisticated and produce this ' chocolate spread' at the correct moment.
Upshot is that I have to endure the chocolate run again Lol!
Twice in one year? OOOPS! I have just given the game away for his twice a week! Love him to bits! Only joking.

Do you take a afternoon nape?
Each day around 2:00 I get so sleepy I can hardly hold my eyes open.
I don't want to feel lazy...one hour will do me...and I'm up ready to go again.

that will help me get someone toxic off my mind. My old past is constantly haunting me. i dont want to go down that road with a particular person. this is also someone who i see all the time because we work at the same place. i just need helpful verses that i can turn to when i am tempted with bad thoughts because i am so weak around him.
thanks in advance :)

The Bible says man is dominant over nature. If that be the case, then why is man the only species that poisons the air, food, and water he needs to survive? Why is man the only species that hunts for sport? And why is man the only species with no regard for God's creation (dumping atomic waste in the ocean, deforesting the Amazon jungle, over fishing to the extinction of entire species as examples). So I ask, when does the dominance part kick in? Man is a plague and had better change to being a caretaker instead. Just my opinion. Got feed back?

Awhile back someone came to talk to our Newman club (catholic group) at my college. What he did that night was not normal. And he just had an air about him that was nice but cool and.... i dunno. But after the meeting he did something that people cant do, I know because it was me he did it to. I really believe him to be a saint. What do you do about that?
