I feel a little bit vindicated, and hope that those who are truly seeking to learn more about any church will go straight to that church to get accurate and sound information. Of course we do like to give thumbs down to some people who sound off about things they obviously don't know the truth about - but that's a right given to everybody on this site. I'm LDS, and some of the "information" I see on here makes my blood boil, and leads less informed readers astray. So, if some of you folks don't like what you think you know, get some facts before you post very opinionated rants about any church you don't belong to. So, I'll change my mind about my New Years' Resolution to stay away from "Answers" and keep my eyes open for misinformed, derogatory, inflammatory, and ignorant posts about my life-long faith. You are all invited to do the same...but you knew that already.

If anyone is interested in this article, they might also be interested in participating in my online community, allaboutmormons . com. I could really use some help answering some of the questions that are posted on that site! There's also a place where visitors can bear their testimonies. Send me an email or visit if you like.
Thanks.

Yes. Of course it would be nice to have a whole other website, but this is where the people are. Ha ha, and Happy New Year, and have some virtual gummy bears, your choice of flavors.

Yes - it was a timely justification of the time I spend online in y!a -- I just try to yield to the influence of the spirit as I answer and post, resisting [most of the time] the urge to be flippant or contentious and simply correct falsehoods and bear my own solemn witness of the Savior

Great article!!! All that I can hope is that something I have said on here reaches someone so they understand a little more what it is we really believe.
I think the internet is a great tool, both for good and for evil. If we can take that good and use it to better ourselves, then we have done a good thing.
It sure makes me want to not get so upset at somethings people say on here. So, my new goal is to be better at that.

We taked about this in Relief Society last week. It's true that conversations about the Church will take place regardless if we participate in them or not. I can only hope that by participating in them, we as members can refute all the untruths about our religion.
It is sad that so many people still continue to try and discredit us, even when an LDS member tells them what we believe. But if just one person walks knowing the truth, then we have done a good thing.

Yes, I had seen that before and it reinforced my use of time on this site. I always have visited here to try and share accurate info about the Church. It is amazing to me how much inaccuracy and disinformation is shared about Mormons.
