How do you start teaching a 3 year old about god? We only go to church once in a while because there is split custody, but we would like to teach him about the bible and God’s work. My husband and I are both Catholic and so is the 3 year olds mother. We have stories about Jesus and God but he doesn’t understand. He wants to see them and we aren’t sure how to explain it to him. We told him god is in Heaven in the sky and he wants him to come out. How do you explain things like this to him?

Would there be more civility in the "Religion and Spirituality" forum if there were sub-groups for the individual religions and religious topics?

Would this cut down on the noise, or just the debate? Would this be an improvement or an impediment to getting people the answers they're seeking?

For example:
Religion and Spirituality/Atheism
Religion and Spirituality/Christianity
Religion and Spirituality/Islam
Religion and Spirituality/Judaism
Religion and Spirituality/Paganism
Religion and Spirituality/Hinduism

Our church is having a showing of it tonight. I haven't even seen the movie because I feel that it would be too intense for even me, and I am not a child. I am really worried about the children of our church. Do you think they should not see it. I am talking we have 4 year olds up to 16 year olds... and thats not all of them, but... those would be most likely to attend. What did you think of it?

Things change weekly and monthly. Some of us don't have enough to make it monthly much less save. Will you if possible?
Will you stop some of the frivolous help you give family and friends to help them or force them to be more responsible?
I have 2 leaving the nest in the next 3-4 months. One will be getting birthday and wedding money not for a party but towards a house downpayment-her choice. The other is going back on her own after getting her debts all paid off by living at home for almost 2 yrs.
We've got two mothers to be ready with cribs etc. Now we intend to save more once again. Plus replace some things we are donating to the kids to help them be more comfortable.
We think it is time to let them fly and take a giant step back. have you all ready done tis or do you plan on it?

In addition to the woman / woman sexual pictorials. I think there should also be nude pictorials of the women themselves alone. As well as a few other things. I think that this would help out the magazine alot. I just wanted to see what the open public thinks or wants.

Do you feel that it is the correct thing to do? Or do you feel that they are they are wrong and are not demonstrating God's love? I've seen ministers both disown and accept their loved one who is homosexual. I was just wondering what you think about it.

A friend of mine recently posted a question about the ugly things people say to and about him at school and at home, and it really gets to me that ignorant people still do this. One of the things I have noticed is that the size and strength of the gay person is directionally proportionate to the amount of trash a troll lets come from their lips.(Trolls in my opinion are male and female)Many gay people are passive and wouldnt harm anyone for any reason. And often times they are the most likely targets.Yes,it is chickens**t,but is that an area where some assertiveness would improve things?I have NEVER EVER in life had anyone speak either directly or indirectly about my sexual preference because I am masculine and I've knocked out more teeth than gingivitis. The fact that I take no crap from anyone has a direct bearing on things as GAY=RESPECT with me.Do heterosexuals assume being gay is a weakness where our less agressive friends are concerned?

I was curious as killing someone is a sin, generally is in any culture, however when we look at events like Iraq for instance many of the US troops I believe are Christian, and have more than likely killed someone in combat.
How do people feel about this? is killing right under any circumstance?

And please add what your religion is.

By that I mean, is the best thing: I have a solid moral code, I can talk to god, I get to live forever....

Of all the benefits your religion brings you, which aspect is the best to you? Also, please state which religion you are. Thanks!

For example, this sharply contradicts all of Revelations.

"Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. "Learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things, know that he is near, at the gates. Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. (Matthew 24:29-35)
