Do you feel that it is the correct thing to do? Or do you feel that they are they are wrong and are not demonstrating God's love? I've seen ministers both disown and accept their loved one who is homosexual. I was just wondering what you think about it.

Hypocrissy, they basically do what they preach against.
'Love the sinner,hate the sin!!'
Edit:i*sparkle yes it states gayness is an abominiation but where does it say disown them in the bible?

I think they miss what God is all about. I do not condone homosexuality nor do I condemn it--it is what it is. My best friend is a gay man. If any of my children were to come to me and tell me they were gay, I'd love them just the same.

The Lord loves all of us just the same. Who are we to judge?

Did anyone see the movie "Saved?" It mirrors a lot of my beliefs.

I love Jesus and accept him as my Lord and Savior, but that is where it ends. One of the main problems for me is how the church views homosexuality as well as a sin is a sin is a sin. Well, there are degrees of sin. In a nutshell, Christianity is too much to live up to and many of its members are too judgmental for my taste.

Its funny because most of the people here who are answering are also stating complaints about experienced discrimination by race.

God doesn't discrminate against race or skin color? So why should he on anybody else? The whole Christian thing, what was edited and left out and re-written of it, is complete b.s. made by a higher power to keep us in the dark and keep secrets.

I think it's disgusting, but if it happens it's likely for the best, so that the gay person can make his or her own way without interference from the family.

They have to disown them whether they want to or not because the Bible clearly states that gayness is an abomination. It's not about love, it's about doing the right thing.
