Fellow Christians,

My 8 year old son found out Santa is fake from a classmate. He cried for a bit but he eventually came to terms with it...but now, when we're in church, and he hears something illogical, he doesn't beleive in it either.

I'm trying to convince him that flying sleds are fake, but talking snakes are real. Reindeer with magical glowing noses are fake, but people splitting seas with their hands, is real. A big jolly guy jumping through chimneys all around the world in one night is fake, but another guy feeding a huge group of people with two fish is real. A 6 foot rabbit jumping around our living room leaving candy is fake, but magical angels with horns flying in from the clouds is real. A 6 inch fairy that spinkles glitter under his pillow leaving dollars is fake, but this other guy shoved 2 of every earthly creature on a boat while all earth, is real. It's confusing the youngster. Why can't he separate the logical sensible Bible stuff from the silly myths?

Isaiah 44:8
8Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared [it]? ye [are] even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, [there is] no God; I know not [any]. (KJV)

My best guess is that it means "hug for you", with the x standing for "hug", the slash standing for "for", and the u standing for "you." Thanks!

These two Texansvrent a boat and go fishing in a lake. They are amazed at the number of fish that they caught that day, so one says to the other, "We'll have to come back here tomorrow!"

The other asks, "But how will we remember where this spot is?"

The first guy then takes a can of spray paint, paints an X on the bottom of the boat, and says, "We'll just look for this X
tomorrow."

The other guy says, "You idiot! How do you know we'll get the same boat?"

why do atheists whine when i question their beliefs cos when they question christianity - they mock it and laugh at it - can you understand how others feel about their beliefs now?

Does not believing in God also mean not accepting the Devil?..or that a person has a spirit or soul?

...So what is it? Please share....
Mine is to get my life into order... which also means doing so many other things that fit into that category. I'll be graduating High School, moving out of my parents' house(finally!), getting an apartment with my best friend for a while, going to college, and possibly even getting married this year. I got engaged early this month and we haven't really decided on a date yet...

But the second part of this question in addition to what your resolution is, is...
Do you think it will be hard to keep?
and if so, do you think in the end, you will have actually conquered it, so to speak?
In other words, do you think by 2009, you'll truthfully be able to say that your resolution was a success?

Hildegard Knef - FÜR MICH SOLL'S ROTE ROSEN REGNEN
Mit 16 sagte ich still
ich will, will groa sein, will siegen
will froh sein, nie lagen
mit 16 sagte ich still
ich will, will alles, oder nichts

Far mich sollÂ’s rote Rosen regnen
mir sollten samtliche Wunder begegnen
die Welt sollte sich umgestalten
und ihre Sorgen far sich behalten

Und spater sagte ich noch
ich macht verstehen, viel sehen
erfahren, bewahren
und spater sagte ich noch
ich macht nicht allein sein
und doch frei sein

Far mich sollÂ’s rote Rosen regnen
mir sollten samtliche Wunder begegnen
das Glack sollte sich sanft verhalten
Es soll mein Schicksal mit Liebe verwalten

Und heute sage ich still
ich sollt mich fagen, begnagen
ich kann mich nicht fagen
kann mich nicht begnagen
will immer noch siegen
will alles, oder nichts

Far mich sollÂ’s rote Rosen regnen
mir sollten ganz neue Wunder begegnen
mich fern vom alten neu entfalten
von dem, w

As a child, my concept of God was very much a composite of my two parents' strengths and weaknesses.

I expected my parents to teach me, guide me in all things, always be there to give me love and wisdom. As a teenager, I realised that my parents could no longer teach me... I found my own parental substitutes (friends, church leaders, my big sister, God... through prayer, etc).

How well do you feel your own parents fulfilled your spiritual needs as a child, youth and young adult? What spiritual decisions did you make because your parents just couldn't meet your spiritual and intellectual needs anymore?

How do you try to meet your own children's needs, if you have any? And how old are they? (Mine are all under 6 yrs.)

Fellow Christians,

I find it alarming these days what people except as "normal" on their tv screens. The "boob tube" has become a haven for teenage girls slinking around in unbecoming outfits to make bad impressions on our younger girls, young men doing stunts that are nothing short of lewd and crude for our teenage boys to mimmick, homosexuals parading around with rainbows, people having abortions on every other channel, murderers, rapists...and nowadays, the worst of them call...people so foolish, they don't even BELEIVE in GOD! Imagine that! They're called "atheists", and it's the newest craze among our young people. Well, as a proud christian father of 6, i think it's SICK, and an ABOMINATION AGAINST GOD.

Have we stooped so low as a society, that we allow our precious children to be exposed to crazy people "out of their gourds" running around in circles yammering nonsense about all of creation EVOLVING? I want a vote for TRUE Christians. Public atheism: love it, or ban it?

what do u think of this explanation? god can be compared to a teacher in this instance. Teachers give tests to thier students. the teachers dont gain anything from giving tests, in fact it is like a burden for them to "create" and grade(judge them) the test. Some people follow what the teachers say and, succeed and do well on the test and succeed in life, while others find more important things (sins) and fail.
Whats the point of teachers giving tests? so they can give the students an opportunity to succeed and be great. Why dont teachers pass everyone? because then there would be no test, no one would try, and noone would be worthy of everything. the teachers want to show cause and effect, and give rewards for following their tests.
Change the word teachers for god, and try understanding my context, it might be a little confusing so read it twice. does this make sense, does this explain to some degree the philosiphy of gods tests?

My thoughts for you all are these:

Would like to be able to see who gives you a thumbs up or down?

Do you think it would cause even more hostility here in R & S?

Why CAN'T we see who is giving us thumbs???

Just thought I would throw this out there to see if anyone is ignorant enough to disagree.
Here is the way Easter is calculated:
The Nicene Council (ended August 25, 325 A.D.) decreed Easter to be the first Sunday after the full moon following the Spring Equinox, March 21, unless that full moon fell on a Sunday (in which case Easter would be the following Sunday).

This is life:

Go to school your whole entire childhood, so you can get a job later in life and then work till you're past the prime age of your life. Then, retire and get ready to die. All you ever do in life is prepare to make money to support yourself..

What is the point??

In new studies and surveys, it has been shown that a majority of parents would rather have their offspring's significant other be anything but atheist. Also, there has been surveys and studies that have shown that people are most uncomfortable around atheists than other religions.

I wanted to know what you think, even though many connections are made between evil and other bad things as atheism (communism, etc.), atheist majority countries such as Finland have some of the lowest crime rates, highest literacy rates, etc. that puts them above other religious influenced governments. Please, I would like to know your opinion on this subject.
