No, it can't, because that is not what prophecy says will happen in the end days!
The prophecies which the great I AM has given in His word, uniting link after link in the chain of events, from eternity in the past to eternity in the future, tell us where we are today in the procession of the ages, and what may be expected in the time to come. All that prophecy has foretold as coming to pass, until the present time, has been traced on the pages of history, and we may be assured that all which is yet to come will be fulfilled in its order.
Today the signs of the times declare that we are standing on the threshold of great and solemn events. Everything in our world is in agitation. Before our eyes is fulfilling the Saviour's prophecy of the events to precede His coming: "Ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. . . . Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places."
Mat 24:29-31 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

It is actually not the Internet of Religion that will create the World Peace, but the Religion of the Internet. The Religion of Knowledge will eventually do it. Easy access to information will make all people realize how same biologically and spiritually we really are. Similarities lead to friendship, not war.

Who said the intent of religion is to create world peace? I have never ever heard that. I think most any belief system would prefer peace over violence, but my spiritual journey is about my salvation, not to solve border disputes between India and Pakistan.

NO NO and You are incorrectly applying scripture to the wrong time and dates
World peace will come in definitely no less than 7 years
it will last for 1,000 years . Jesus is the Prince of peace and will rule the world for this time
4th world war will break out
and then amidst all the havoc will emerge eternal peace

The Bible says, "Blessed are the peace makers," but it does not say the intent of Christianity is world peace. In fact if you study the book of Revelation you will find just the opposite is foretold. I find it amazing what people 'think' the Bible says, or what the goals of Christianity are and they never do really research it themselves.
