This is life:

Go to school your whole entire childhood, so you can get a job later in life and then work till you're past the prime age of your life. Then, retire and get ready to die. All you ever do in life is prepare to make money to support yourself..

What is the point??

In order to actually answer this question, you have to go far beyond what passes for an understanding or definition of life in any of our world's so-called societies. This planet has yet to develop a widespread society that goes beyond simple primitive attempts at philosophy to a point where war and egotistical ownership of supposed deities are no longer acceptable concepts. Also, to a point where the systematic abuse of the planet for greedy ends, leading to disasters such as overpopulation and the concomitant global warming, other pollution, and species extinction is no longer tolerated

In the first place, individual consciousness is immortal. You pass from one lifetime to another learning and gathering experience. One of the major goals is to achieve continuity of consciousness, which means acquiring the ability to pass through what is called the death experience without entering a dream-sleep meditation state, from which one may partially awake in the next lifetime with no clear memories of what has passed before. Once the continuity of consciousness has been achieved, you then have the ability to choose to live on the Physical Plane (known as "The Universe" by our primitive scientists and philosophers) or to live focused in other levels, the first of which is often referred to as the Astral Plane; but understandings of this part of the true Universe vary wildly (as one would expect at our primitive level). Simply put, the Astral Plane is the part of the Universe immediately beyond the speed of light, and is larger and even more varied than the Physical Plane. There are seven planes in all.

The "point" of life, then, can be roughly stated as an unending process of gaining true knowledge and actual abilities involved in knowing how to function on ever more of these planes and within the myriad parts thereof. To understand this, one of the necessary steps is to consider infinity and the non-existence of time or space as actual things. The vaunted time-space continuum is an erroneous concept. Events happening in sequence is not. However, the often-stated idea that the Physical Plane is an illusion is utterly false. It is all real in the most fundamental sense. The illusion is thinking a. that the physical plane is the only real area, b. that awareness somehow stems from the brain, c, that we only live one life (see b.), d, that some super-being called "God" created anything (of course "God" belongs to any one of the various religions that constantly fight over their ownership of "God". If there were such a being, we would need to ask it, him, her, whatever, the why of such things as malaria, other parasites, aids, birth defects, war, greedy politicians, Yugos, warlords, religious fanatics, poverty, the list goes on and on). As you may see, the list of illusions can be very long also. Note the way you defined life as you asked your original question. Instead of referring to "God" as creator, we must look to ourselves. We are capable of creating beauty and love and a balanced life with nature of which we are as both children and partners. The mistakes and confusions we see in our lives and all around us are our own. We are to learn from them so as to advance, and not to repeat them. The Earth is a beautiful planet. As part of our purpose, we must learn to live respecting one another and loving and respecting the only planet we have, or we will destroy it and ourselves in the process. That would not be a proud or comfortable thing to remember in a future life.

Dont dwell about the existence of god because honestly NOONE knows about it no matter how much some people tend to claim to... Life is about the here and now so dont look forward to an after-life because u never know if there is one. Do everything you've ever wanted. If you have a Goal I suggest you follow it however try not to make it an impossible one. Be a good person, find someone who you Love and loves you for who you are, have children, settle down, get a good job, excpect the worst, understand that some people are Lucky and some people arent as lucky as others. Learn as much as you can about our world and its contents. spread your knowledge and wisdom to your children.

There are a lot of people whose only real goal in life is to keep from thinking of the truth as you speak it. They will tell us to "just live life" or "live life to the fullest" or "make the world a better place" or whatever but the real, unspoken goal is to keep from suicide.

The only possible point of life, not connected to avoiding suicide, has to assume a Creator who has put us here on earth for a real purpose.

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell

Russell was an atheist but he nevertheless understood that we have no purpose unless God gave it to us.

Christians believe that our purpose is to truly seek our Creator, to allow Him to reveal Himself to us, to experience Him and to find our joy in Him. We embrace the message in the Bible that God wants to transform us into His sons and daughters. We understand that God wants us to seek Him by trying to obey His command to love our neighbor for where love is, there God is also.

That is what rich people want you to do. But life itself doesn't really have a 'point', it just is.

The point of life is to do what you can to be a productive adult while you are on this earth and to make yourself happy by any and all your accomplishments.

the point? to live (i.e. to have experiences).

how you want to live (i.e. if you want the material things in life versus believing "the best things in life are free") will shape your perspective (whether you are happy or unhappy) about the life you are living.

It's called survival. You do have the option of giving up and being a bum or committing suicide. People who can't accept that their only value to others is what they can earn through their labor or the product of their minds become criminals or religious nuts.
