As a fellow Christians, I use this for music and movies, I ask myself, "Would Jesus listen to this", then His Spirit within let's me know what to do."

Explaining my position:

The reason I use this method is simple, The world is run by Satan at this particular time and one can be motivated quickly
and allow certain things to creep in, then before you know it, if that person is not strong in Christ, then this becomes a problem.

via "cursing," I presume you recommend "vulgarity." To curse is to ask that God rattling somebody. 4 -letter words, lavatory language, and so on. isn't "cursing;" it somewhat is "vulgar." i don't understand of any commandment from God that asserts it somewhat is a sin to apply vulgar language. it would desire to be a sin to scandalize others via utilising vulgarity; it would desire to be a sin against charity to furnish undesirable occasion to others via such utilization. yet to hearken to so-stated as track which has lyrics that contain vulgarities isn't sinful, IMO.

Yes, if it dishonors Jesus or if people who were not believers saw you listening to it would they think you were a Christian? Remember what Paul said, that if eating meat offended he would not eat any while the world stood. In anything you do, ask yourself , would Jesus do this, then your conscious usually gives you an answer.

I like listening to Christian music because you usually don't have to worry about stuff like that. It's more uplifting and makes me think. (Sometimes you'll have a curse word crop up in some of the more fringe stuff, like my favorites, Daniel Amos and Swirling Eddies.) It's probably not a sin to listen to music with cursing in it, but doing so takes time away that you could be listening to something that's more beneficial to you.

Yes.
In the bible it clearly says to not curse.
If you listen to music with cursing it in, you are accepting it as alright. There is so much more music out there, listen to something else. And most likely, if it has cursing the message it is sending isn't that great either.

No, music is art. People appreciate different forms of art; you shouldn't let others force you to conform to liking a certain style of music.

Edit: The person who gave me a thumbs down conformed to what others told him/her to think.
