I've noticed that for many YA questions (usually asking for opinion or advice), people seem to be searching for a specific answer for validation. It seems that any answers that run counter to the normal trend of popular response is ignored or negatively voted. Why ask the question when you already know the answer? Why do we, as humans, desperately need validation from others, even from an anonymous online venture?

Having travelled and lived abroad most of my life the only 'broadening' I am aware of is that I now see that the world is in a mess and my own country is as bad as everywhere else.

I found a lot of sense by rapper 50 cent's claim that it is easier to go after 8 individuals singing rap/Hiphop, rather than going after a big corporation like Paramount or Colombia pictures who include as much violent contents in their movie productions.?? Find videotape url link below:

I agree that visual combined with audio in a movie is more appealing and impressive than just listening to the sounds of a rapper? I'm a great fan of hiphop music, and I've always known right from wongs. Hiphop is just a listening pleasure and a genre music-a half influence of the entertainment industry....
Please debate....

I live in America and when I told everyone I was coming to Colombia they all freaked out, said I was going to be robbed, kidknapped, beaten up, bla bla....¨don´t eat the meat, it might be dog, or rat¨¨...
I didn´t believe everything everyone said because I had been to Peru the previous summer but I was a little worried about the violence here. Now, I do understand that there is a lot of violence in the jungles with the guerrilla and everything but...when I finally arrived to Bogota I thought....wow...people in America are pretty ignorant...there is a lot poverty here in some parts but....I can´t count the number of rich people I´ve seen in the city...and no offense...but most people I have run into are a lot more educated than most people back home....unfortunately it´s true.lol.well, I guess people should get to new a country before they talk bad about it...because COLOMBIA is completely different from what people say about it in the Usa.I´d say MANY parts are just as good as nyc

It's really irritating how Americans claim themselves to be the ""world"" of evrything, when many less advantageous countries of the world have never heard of their top ranking singers, top ranking actors, top ranking bestsellers etc...
Some celebrities who boast world ranks, they go to Africa and most of the poor ppl do not even know who they are. I remeber the malawans didn't even know who Madonna was, so why are Americans claiming evrybody knows them by self-professing "the most popular artist etc.., in the world"? And considering the most wealthy persons, a lot of wealth is located outside of America eg; the Middle east..
Will they find another definition to their ranks?

I think being gay is a chice you make not who you are because if they just ignored the feeling at first it would have disapeared and would have been normal, beside it's why god made us males and females and if you think about for a second i'm sure you'll find it wrong.
Does anyone agree with me?

Honestly, people use brown to describe hispanics, specifically mexicans, but not all hispanics are "brown skinned", in fact many of them have shades of peach, olive, light tan, and deep tan coloring. Whites are not necessarily "white", but they are peach, sometimes olive colored. And aren't "blacks" the real "browns", since many of their skin is mocha, caramel, and different shades of brown, sometimes even light in complexion? And since when did Asians have "yellow" skin? Most of them have various degrees of peach, tan, and sometimes brown coloring depending on their ethnicity. And what happens to mixed race people? Makes you think doesn't it?

Hi,

I'm an ex smoker myself and god I am happy for that! Not only because I feel healthier, but also because I don't have to undergo the public bullying that is going on right now.

Non smokers: you now have what you wanted: smoke free pubs and restaurants... Why keep bullying and patronizing those who smoke? The only thing you will achieve is that smokers will light another one.

My question is not about whether the smoking ban is right or wrong, neither about whether smoking is bad for you - we all know this.

My question is about bullying. Is it just human nature to bully those who are considered outcast (and now with the help of the government) or is it really justified to say such nasty things to smokers?
Please be honest.

Most people will respond with "that's personal". Even if they do tell you it doesn't mean you are going to get some of their wages. What difference does it make if someone knows? I have had well paid jobs and badly paid jobs and I have never cared who knows how much I get paid. I sometimes ask this question out of sheer curiosity, but most people are reluctant to tell. What's the big deal. It's hardly like asking if you have any kind of genital deformity. As the majority of people refuse to say, I am expecting a barrage of stern responses. Please be polite. I'm only asking you why you won't tell - not how much you earn!

Some people get mad because she is helping people in other countries or mostly the African continent. I think it's dumb when some U.S. people get mad at her and say "we need help here" or whatever, when our type of "poor" is no where close to the type of "poor" in Africa. It really gets on my nerves when the African American people get mad at Oprah. They say that she needs to help her people, well guess what...SHE IS! The African Americans here have it good, if they are poor it's because they are too lazy to get a job and they always depend on Welfare too much. African Americans have a lot of choices for help, there is nothing for the real Africans in Africa to get help from. I saw an episode of Oprah where she was talking about these kids who are sold by their parents to go fish for other people. They work almost all day with only one meal. Anways, my question is, what is your point on getting mad at Oprah for helping other people from another land, or what is your opinion?

I couldn't believe it, but after you think about it it's kinda cool. They can actually make rings, earrings, chains, all kinds of jewelry from loved ones that have passed, or from someones hair. I just want some opinions on this. Or can anyone find me a price (just out of curiousity) I have been to the website, no prices available. They are called Life Gems.
