I've noticed that for many YA questions (usually asking for opinion or advice), people seem to be searching for a specific answer for validation. It seems that any answers that run counter to the normal trend of popular response is ignored or negatively voted. Why ask the question when you already know the answer? Why do we, as humans, desperately need validation from others, even from an anonymous online venture?

I asked a couple of questions about computers and cars.... looking for expertise and specific answers. I really don't need YA for validation of my beliefs. And this is hardly the place I would spill my guts since I am a very private person by nature. I am more of an observer of others' actions rather than a participant.

I usually ask for a specific answer. Most of the time I don't know where it would be found in a website.

I know what you mean...I hate it when people ask a stupid question (usually about why they are racists and why it's okay for them to be racist), but then they choose the best answer as someone that is also racist and has their same opinion. I think it's stupid.
