Why do Americans think that they are so good? Everwhere I go in the world there is always at least one American. They always tell me, or the world in general, how good America is and how we or the rest of the world are do things wrong. Last time I met one in this country he said how we all drove on the wrong side of the road. We were driving on the correct side of the road for the last 2000 years for fucccs sake! Do you know any Americans? Are they like this?

this is not intended to start any heated emotional rants from anyone. i am seriously interested in your intelligent responses.
i have no problem with either, people are people.

i watch tv and movies and i see a lot more gay characters(coupled or not) portrayed than interracial couples/families.however in real life, i see interracial couples/families every day, as well as gays;coupled,singles,families.

do the TV and movies producers think it is more 'taboo' to show blacks and whites in a loving relationship on screen than say two men or two women? do they think the american public cannot handle it?

-I'm a high school student and I study at the library. But occasionally, I get bothered by a mentally ill kid. He like to take my stuff for fun which affects me doing my homework. I tell him to go away, but he won't. What shall I do to solve this problem that is legal, non-violent, and preserves my dignity?

That people want to sell a used computer rather than recycle it? It is odd that people think anyone would want a 5-10yr old computer. How can we encourage people to recycle and eliminate the perception of value at the same time?

I've answered a couple of questions tonight about my teenage years and it got me thinking. I started drinking regularly at the weekends when I was 14 which was about average where I grew up. Now I get embarassed about it as some people are so shocked when I tell them.
