As race is a hot potato noone wants to touch, I have come here to ask as you are an honest bunch. I am a black girl who was born and bred in Britan but now I want to leave. I love this country but I have always felt so unwanted here. I am married with two young babies and I have started looking at places in the countryside so they can have a great upbringing.

But I really stick out and I have felt hostility coming off people in waves. My mother was also born and bred here so I have no affinity with another country and am "british" in my ways. My Grandparents who emigrated here are both half black, one is also half Indian, the other half Chinese. They hail from Jamaica and Honduras. So a mish mash.

I want to go to a really well functioning black society. where the econmy is not too atrocious and where my dh and I can get good jobs. Is there a black country like this?

I don't want to move somewhere where people will be fake and also my dh is white and children are mixed.

every country has a flag to distinguish it from the others. imagine that it's 2,000 yrs from now, and earth is communicating, and maybe even trading with, or at war with beings on other planets. what should the flag for earth look like in order to distinguish us from other civilizations? personally i vote for the cobra kai logo from "the karate kid". what do you all suggest?

At first I thought it was a friendly gesture but I've come to realize that it is something else. When I'm out and about he follows me around demanding that I do things his way. When I refuse he calls the cops and reports me. He's an old retired guy who thinks that everybody not just like him is 'evil'. He's a bit of a nut and possibly a repressed homosexual. Why else would a guy constantly watch another guy and follow him around?
How do I deal with this guy?

I am a very simple person who doesn't really get impressed very easily with million dollar homes, nice cars etc. Last night my mom told me I'd be getting a income tax refund of about $500.00 which is great considering that's half of what I make in a month. But this morning I woke up & found a note from my 14 year daughter saying I love you mom, have a nice day & that just made my day so much more than the $500.00. Am I weird or does anyone else as simple as me?

There are so many standards that society has for us, and it all is categorized by our gender.

I believe women have it the hardest. In order to be accepted in all places we must be very beautiful and thin. It's a serious problem because it is causing women to hurt themselves physcially by trying to be that person society wants us to be. Women will go through great lengths to be as beautiful as she can be, even if she is already beautiful. Women will stave themselves, become bolimic, and even have plastic surgury and still they don't feel like they are worth the good comments made about their apperance.

It's not just women. Men have the same problems in a different way. In order for them to be accepted by society they should be musclier (not puney), have little bodyfat, and be handsome. This is causing men to take serious measures themselves. They'll begin taking steroids or even they will have plastic surgury, which can hurt them.
