No matter where I've lived have always been friendly to neighbours a bit of advice given to me years ago was best way to keep your neighbours is to keep them out of your house well have mostly had good ones only the ones I have now are at times very noisy but I've dealt with that the one on the other side just wants to gossip all I say is Oh dear and really, besides hello if I stand I just listen and she seems to know every ones business so I listen cause it is just gossip God knows what she says about me only can't be much no doubt she will find something

I live in London UK. We talk to our neighbours on either side of us and two neighbours across the road and then another neighbour a little further down the road.
However, I spent 10 years in Wales and it was a real community, we knew all our neighbours and although I left there many years ago, we're still good friends with our ex neighbours.
It's nice to say hello, have a little chat etc. feels nicer when you're friendly. We don't live inside each others pockets....still have lots of privacy.

I'm the same way.I have lived in my house for 5 years now,I have talked to one neighbor once and the other just a passing wave.I'm not unfriendly,I supervise 8 men at work we all get along but when I'm home ,I only want to see my family.I did the same thing at my other house I lived in for 13 years.I coached baseball and football for 10 years and was buddies with all the parents but when it came to my neighbors,I was very standoffish,I don't really know why.

I talk to one of them, hes an elderly gentleman who has lost his sight, I go in and read the local paper to him each day, just sit and chat about things and have a cuppa with him, I don't bother with the neighbours at the other side of me as they are scumbags and druggies.

I have one that is nuttier than a bag of nuts! The other one is as sweet as an adopted sister in law that she is! I ask her opinions about what is going on in the hood and what to do about things and we just dont really bug each other...we listen..

I speak to my neighbours. The people on the right are English, like me, and the man to the left of me is German. He doesn´t speak much English and I don´t speak much German - so we speak in Spanish which we both understand.

mine rang me last week to say that my docile little lavendar bush had knocked down and smashed a panel of her concrete-based fence......(I reckoned the 80mph winds were more likely suspects...)
Surprisingly enough, I dont go out of my way to speak to her.
The lady on the other side is really sweet & friendly so I'd be happy to talk to her anytime.

whow.merely communicate to the guy. start up with 'hi Cameron, how are you?' like merely start up a verbal change. no longer some thing extreme. yet do no longer enable him recognize how you experience in the present day. merely act organic and word the way it is going.
