Recently my girlfriends mother suddenly went into a coma and became braindead. Obviously this is very hard for her as the mother is essentially neither dead nor alive. Is there any kind of support group within London for situations similar to this??

It seems that nowadays mocking an accent is seen by some as racist behaviour. Even a joke about people of a certain group (not just race) whether it is within the group itself or not is sometimes categorized as racism. There was a time when racism was obvious enough but now that we are all so civilized, in the 21st century and educated and stuff, its all becoming a bit blurred. Serious answers please, i'm not just looking for opinions because that is what is in our ears all the time.And why is it OK for a personA to call personB disrespectful when personB is in personA's country and cannot speak personA's language?

Although the First AGM of the Society was held as far back as in the first week of Nov.07, the Managing Commitee has no so far circulated among the members, nor displayed on the Notice Board, the minutes of the AGM. Despite reminders in writing by the members, there is no response from the Commitee. What is the legal remedy avaialble? Should the members approach Registrar or consumer forum (if there is any) inthe matter ?Can I have their full address? Our Society is in Kandivali.

is, each time I go there I get cutting remarks. Even when I was a little girl, I used to get adults saying things like, "I can't understand these Londoners". I used to play out on the streets up North and one woman had said to her daughter, "come away from her (meaning me). I won't have you playing with the likes of her". I would really like to move, but now I'm in my 30's and still worry I'll be put down because of my London accent. What do you think?
