Lets say we absolutley had to get rid of our cars, and give up many of what we consider basic essentials in life --to save the world and humanity, do you think the world as a whole is ready and prepared to do what it takes to save our planet?

I was posing a hypothetical and I didn't just say "cars." HYPOTHETICALLY if we HAD to, COULD WE?

Think before you answer next time, thanks.

Nope. Think of all the things that ARE available to us now. And think of all the greedy, money hungry, "gotta have 10 tv's in my house" kinda people out there.

If we are forced to give up basic necessities their would be chaos. People wouldn't be able to handle life without their IPods, cell phones and televisions... oh and the internet.

Well, you used the word "consider" but I don't consider those things necessities. They are frivolous luxories. Are those things we can do without? To get a majority to, no way, but they are slowly coming around I like to think. It's hard to get people to change bahavior if they see it as an immediate threat. Unitl that time comes, my answer is no.

Now that you pose the question- I really don't know. I would like to think so, but unfortunately I'm not sure.

Sorry to say this, but no. There will always be people who think only of themselves and of today.
