I've been studying latin for about a month now and I was working on Wheelock's latin reader with a friend. and she why "Tum equum hasta tundit" translates to "then he strikes/beats the horse with a spear" and not "then the horse strikes with a spear". although i got the right translation and sorta know why it's so, i can't seem to put it into words to explain to her. can anyone enlighten us?

The full text can be found here: http://www.quasillum.com/latin/wheelock/chapt08-2.txt

Time is too slow for those who wait,
too swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve,
too short for those who rejoice,
but for those who love, time is eternity.

I love Daisuke-san and I want to make a poster for the parade tomorrow, but I'm not sure what to put on the poster that would show how much I love him as a player but would be appropriate and respectful at the same time...of course I'd like to say it in Japanese (romanji)

Can anyone help me with ideas?

Also, don't bother posting if you're going to insult the Red Sox or Daisuke or anything along those lines. I was respectful in asking my question, I didn't insult any other team or player, so please be respectful to me by just not sharing if you have something demeaning to say. Thank you!
