Hello, In only have one where I couldn't find the common english expression so could you help me?

Modus Operandi- Mode of operation ( I'm pretty sure that is the literal translation), but what would the more recent english phrase be?
Also, I need a original sentence that shows the meaning of the word

Thank you very very much!!!♥

A phrasing that I've found is :
"They have developed a modus operandi for the management of new food safety".
"modus operandi" is in other words "how to proceed"

PS
as to yr additional question ref. to "mandamus" this is a link to a wikipedia page which explain clearly the meaning of this Latin word and how it's used in the Justice / Law.
