If you use both, when and why do you use each?

How do you feel when people say "thank you" or "thanks" to you? Does that make any difference?

Where are you from? Is English your first language? I'm asking because I get the impression that this makes a difference in how you feel about this.

Thank you for your answer! :)

Have a wonderful day! :)

I realize know is vague - some I can read, some I can write, some I know , but I can't write like turtle (kame) or hair (hami)

I still have a lot of trouble with murasaki as well.

You?

I probably "know" a little less than 1000

Hi, I am translating a book and came across a paragraph with 3 sentences. Can you help with translation?

"For my entire tenure at Deloitte, I had the ear of the CEO [WHAT DOES "TO HAVE THE EAR OF SOMEONE MEAN], and he kept asking about me among his partners [TO ASK ABOUT ME AMONG HIS PARTNER?]. He was looking out for me the entire time [TO LOOK OUT FOR SOMEONE?]."

If you can explain the phrases in capital letters, or re-write those 3 sentences that would be great.

"The scores are in for the class of 2007"

What is the meaning of "the scores are in"?

The whole passage is like this:

AZUZ: Switching gears now, it's the three letters that can strike fear into the hearts of students: SAT. It's not the only college entrance exam, but it's still the biggest. The scores are in for the class of 2007, and the numbers are down, but not by much. Average scores on all three sections of the test dropped from the previous year....

is it possible to teach a child three languages?
would it be too hard or complicated for him/her?

My husband and I both speak English, Spanish, and Italian.

We just had a child and we want to teach him Spanish, Italian and obviously english, but is it possible?

all three languages are equally important to us for various reasons. They are spoken daily within our families, and.....

Long story short, it's extremely important for us to know all three languages.
It's nearly impossible to choose one language over the other

it was easy for my husbands parents to teach him Spanish and English as he grew up, and it was easy for my parents to teach me Italian and english as i grew up. My husband and i both learned the third language in college, so we dont know how hard it might be for a child to learn three languages.

is it possible?
any tips?

thats about it, Thanks, Grazie, Gracias

About me:
I am 35. I am a self taught English student. I am from Korea. I used to work for a school as an office manager in Korea and work as a public administrative worker in Canada. I quit my job as my English is not strong enough to work. I feel it is getting better and better. I will apply for a job next year(08) or so. My ultimate goal in Canada is to work for school as Education is my secial ability, its exercise, and my special talent. Thus, I am attending several adult education centres to improve my second language skills and to enhance English computer skills. I have to make my goal come true for my happiness. Cheers !
