It means that you shouldn't obsess or feel guilty if you lapse and overindulge on pleasure once in a while, as long as you don't continually repeat the excessive behavior.

For example, if you waste an entire day doing nothing but watching movies on TV, don't feel bad about "not moderating your TV viewing," as long as you don't keep doing it every day. And drinking wine in moderation is a good thing, but if you have a day when you drink too much, there's no need to feel bad about not being moderate with the wine, just for that day.

It means to be moderate but don't go to extremes. In other words, even moderation can be overdone.

it means you shouldn't be afraid to let go and make whoopee dsometimes. Moderation in everythiing is dull - you need some excitement in life.
