What is the word for when people get their words muddled up and say a word that has a totally different meaning to the one they mean? Like Ethel used to in Eastenders. I remember learning it in school, (a loooooooooong time ago!!), and it is driving me insane.

I have a question about English grammar.

Which sentences do you use in everday conversations??

1 If I were a bird , I could fly.
2.If I was a bird, I could fly.

I think I were sentence is correct English grammar.
But Some people often use If I was sentence.
If I were is kind of idiomatic sentence, isn't it??

What do you think about it?????????

Plase, tell me your idea.

I'm just curious. My last name translated from Irish to English as "Dark Hero" or "Dark-Haired Champion."

How would that translate to Japanese? Playing around with a couple of translator programs, I came up with "Daku Yuushi". I'm curious if that would be a legitimate translation or would those two words not be used together? Is there a more appropriate translation? How would I find the ideograph(s) for these words?
