I am not American so I would like to know if it sounds as cool for Americans as it sounds to me.

For me, an American, "bestest" does not sound anoying or cheesy. When we say it, we know that it is not correct, but it is like saying "the extreme best" or "the best of the best", a superlative superlative (if that is possible).

We usually use it to add a little humor to the situation.

Cheesy, like one of those Disney movies of the 50s and early 60s. Like "Pollyanna". The kind of girl that also abuses the word "neat".

Or maybe a shady drug company that advertises via e-mail spam. "Neat! The BESTEST V1agra EVER!"

I think it's annoying. I can't stand it when people say "bestest!" When they say it I always make it a point to be really sarcastic like saying something like...."Oh really....was it the BESTEST time you've ever had?" It may be rude of me, but what can I say....I'm a pretty sarcastic person!

What is sounds, is uneducated. Unless it's a teenage girl being cute and gushy, as in "Oooooh, you are my BESTEST friend in the whole WORLD!" Then it's annoying or cheesy.

No it sounds like you're talking to a 10 year old girl. Then again I'm the numb nuts that didn't understand what Brits meant when they asked for a fag.

Bestest is not a word. The word you should use is Best.

ANNOYING! Sounds very juvenile and dumb. Besides, there's no such word, like saying "I haded my lunch already." or "My friends singed a song."

But b/c you're not a native speaker, there is some slack for you. One thing for sure, it's not cool. But hey, study hard ok?

It is not a word, and makes the user sound ignorant and juvenile. The only acceptable use that I can think of is when a teen-aged girl exclaims "You are my bestest friend". Unless you are a teen-aged girl, and you want to compliment your friend, don't say it. Please.
