Hi Pretty, French is a beautiful musical language but is quite difficult to learn because it has a complex grammar and syntax.
basic words? to do what?
there are courses on line but the best way to learn it is either to stay there for a while or to get a French friend.

French is very old and it`s not an easy language to learn, we have 21 tense (although you don`t need to learn them all) and it`s full of exceptions. Did you know 50% of the English language has its origin in the French language. The best way to start is to get the basic with a book or a course then watch a lot of French TV, music etc. You have to train your ear to recognize the words.
It is a very useful language, its spoken in 52 countries and is the second language spoken in the world.

Bonne chance.

for one if you have the drive for it then yes. Finding a good teacher helps. Also the more French you learn, it gets easier. spanish gets more complexed however. they are almost opposites in that aspect. Rosetta Stone I personally used to learn french and it really made it easy for me to learn inside and outside the class.

I am sorry to say but yes it is. I have studied it for years, now I can finally get by. I am spanish native speaker so it was easy because of the grammar.
First thing you have to get use to is pronunciation, there are alot of words and need your through and lots of nose sounds.
