Like to hear:
I got a raise
I was just thinking about you
I missed you
You got a haircut! Looks great!
Never say:

Like:
You look very pretty in that dress
You were the prettiest girl at the party
Dislike:
Have you gained weight?
I wish you were as (pretty, slim, tall, etc) as Jane.

Words (phrases) women like to hear: "Please", "Thank-you", "Let's.....", "You're the best", "I never get tired of that smile", "I've made reservations at .....", "I love your dog (cat)" Words (phrases) women don't like to hear: "Don't worry about it", "So what?", "That's ridiculous", (any derogatory name), "You're just a woman, how could you know (care)", (any obvious lie when you know better), "My last girlfriend.....", "My previous wife....." "If you loved me you'd..." Married men have a bunch of additional things they should and shouldn't say, but by now they probably know (if they have any clue at all).
