I learn Japanese and can't find any conversation partners. I mean, these people are generally busy with their ESL classes, they have a bunch of classmates there and that's good enough for them. Others go to colleges and there are plenty of Americans there to meet. I'm just a simple person, not into fashion, not into doing all these crazy activities, so they are not really interested in me. I even tried writng ads online and nobody responds. So whatever.

Do you guys think i can get good enough at the language by speaking to myself outloud? Is that usually something that helps just as much as having a conversation partner?

So I've been trying to figure out what language this song is. It's very, very hard to pinpoint what language it is, even for someone who is fairly good at recognizing language as me. I've had some tell me it Romanian, some tell me it's Ancient Celt, but none of then were certain. http://members.cox.net/nikkisspace/03%20-%20Track%203.mp3 There's the song file. Just save it to your computer and listen. Any, ANY help will be appreciated! I'm really desperate for it, hah hah! It's a very pretty track, it seems Indo-European, but I can't quite tell exactly. How do the Egyptians pronounce water in arabi? I'm from Iraq and I pronounce it like the English word 'my' but I was just wondering if it is said differently in the Egyptian dialect?
Also, how do you say:
When, where, how, who and why?
I'm guessing 'why' is probably 'lesh' like it is in most dialects but I know that you say 'fayn' for 'where' but I say 'weyn' so, just wondering if some of the others were different.
I'm not very good at understanding other arabic dialects apart from my own so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I got these questions, and I wanted to make sure I did them right. We had to translate them to Spanish, using the words we know. My main thing is the word order, Is it right?

1. The sdutents prepare the Spanish lesson.
2. I always practice the exercises.
3. We need to study more.
4. Do you (Ud.) speak English?
5. My brother pronounces French very well.

There is a Russian expression "kto yasno myslit, tot yasno izlagayet". It roughly means "he who thinks clearly can express his thoughts clearly". This expression could be translated in a variety of ways, for example: "Clear thinking ensures clear expression" or "Clear thought - clear expression", or even "Logical thinking allows logical expression", or maybe "You can't be eloquent if you can't think clearly" and so on. Can you offer a better suggestion for translating this phrase?

Hi, I'm from the US and I'm trying to understand the logic of your language. I know very, very little but can't grasp some things and I was hoping for some help. The tutorial I'm using may be inaccurate, but they say this phrase, "Unde sunt?",

which as they say translates to "Where am I?". How is this possible? This sentence contains no subject than the conjugation of "to be" is the same as the conjugation for the "they" subject. So what makes this sentence "Where am I?" not "Where are they?"

Can someone explain how a sentence can be formed without an explicit subject?
