Sal is salt in Spanish but when you are Salado you have not good luck at all is like i am so Salado, it also means that the food it have too much salt Hay my English i am so Salado

but it is slang to say that somebody has very bad luck.
Es un salado = He is very unlucky.
Why there are so many ignorant people that gives thumbs down even though they know the answer is correct.

Well,for food it either to be "salted food" or " Appetitive dishes " ex. soup,salad....etc
for persons it's "unlucky person"
