There is character in the novel"Vernon God Little"by DBC Pierre, who sometimes starts to speak with a "tch" sound. I don't know how to traslate it and replace a word for it. Would you please describe and give its'meaning?
Thank you.

My mom speaks it fluently but it is not practical to speak it with her daily (I am only 13) and last summer I spent a month in El Salvador immersed in the language. I can understand most of it but i just can't get the hang of speaking it!!! it is soo irritating
